    What ColdWater said... Out of all of the designs Michelotti did for Vignale's Ferraris, this would be my favorite. I love it's simple, but elegant lines and sober colouration. I was just curious to see if it was still in it's last known (to me) unrestored condition and whether it was in North America or elsewhere...

    That is the body of #0390 MM (250 MM Spider Vignale) at Jackson Brooks' place in Fort Collins/CO in 1972.

    Ed, the unkown car shown in post #450 is a 1950 Vignale coupe.

    0115S is a 1951 Vignale coupe and has a different body...

    We have been scearching for it for years, do you or anyone else know anything about it ? last owner we know of was Max Baer jr in the early 60s in Southern California . It was sold with a corvette engine installed but accompanied by the original Ferrari engine.

    Had some correspondence with Baer a few years back (I'm not above a little barn-searching, even now) and he was no help. It was just an old car to him, I guess.

    Ed you were involved in almost everything Ferrari in the old days in So. Cal. Do you have any thoughts about this car or did Baer tell you anything that could help find it ?

    Nope. Old photos show a more subtle curve. This car has had a hard life.

    There are photos of the car at various times in "Ferrari by Vignale" by Marcel Massini, but of course I cannot post them due to copyright. The book is definitely worth acquiring.

    I agree, good book, not cheap and printed I believe in 1983. Alot has happened since then. I have good files on many of these cars and may be able to help. just one man's opinion tongascrew

    There is also the 1993 softcover new(er) printing. I would have to think it was updated with whatever Marcel Massini observed over the ten years. As well, Messrs. Massini and Anselmi have Making A Difference (2006).

    0197EL is depicted in "Ferrari by Vignale", but I could not find it in "Making a Difference".
