The questions was answered in another thread. History of the car on M. Sheehan's website. Value about as much as anyone might want to pay, but about half of 1034... so about 200-250k . Asking prince higher through. DB
Replicas have no real value. They are fun to drive but they should always be labelled as replicas, otherwise it's just fraud. There is a really nice P3/4 which shows up at our Scottsdale gatherings regularly. It is really a magnificently well done car but it is not real, kinda like Jessica Rabbit - pretty to look at but useless in the real world.
Gene, that is for how much you could have bought it 3 years ago . For that much, it would be a fun track car.
I remember seeing it for sale by a Monaco dealer. Now, i dont know if the dealer was just advertising it for the same Belgian dealer.. Any idea how much they are asking?
i would love to own that car for $200k. that is a true e-ticket ride!!!! far, far, far from useless!!!!!! pcb
I think what you are saying moreover is that this car has no value to you personally. If enough people place a certain value upon something, then a market price can be set and then leveraged. $200,000 is being thrown around as the approximate value of this car. That is far from zero value. It must be damn good, then. Is it valuable to me personally? No. It's cool, but for 200 grand, I'd rather have a real Ferrari with real factory serial numbers, a history, etc....
i agree with you that alex's comments were just a bit out of line for many of us. i understand that this car does not meet his collection requirements and i do appreciate that. for me, there is not a single ferrari i would enjoy more than the faithfully re-created 512m for $200k. that said, it would cost more than $400k to source or create the proper parts to build this car today. pcb
