Alonso doing the same thing as Hamilton in the pit entry... wtf? Completely stupid...
Now I want to see what Alonso is made of. BTW-- I think Hamilton is a great driver, but lately he is starting to make too many stupid stunts ( twice today while entiring and exiting the pit)--then usually on Monday he appologizes, but after today--he deserves a punishment!!!
I believe we are ALL enjoying this race! It is almost like a Nascar race with the chips being thrown into the air every few laps. We are seeing some really good fights on track this race. Really glad to enjoy it with all. This one is still way up in the air... Frank
But was it "unsafe release" or "unsafe driving" or was somebody speeding? Don't worry, any penalty given after the race for next race will be worse than a drive through...
I thought Massa was first. That was totally shocking. Look for an interesting debrief session in the F paddock after the race.
That is exactly the issue. IIRC, Massa (was it Massa?) was fined for an unsafe release last year. It seems drive throughs for this are somewhat rare. But a grid penalty or 25-second timesheet demotion after the fact is crap.
One could argue that overtaking in the pit lane is allowed, otherwise you'd have to wait for everyone in front of you to finish changing the tires. However: Stupid action, penalty well deserved, both Alonso and Hamilton.
I dunno... there are two lanes entering the pits... they merge into one at the end. I am not sure on the rules... is it acceptable to use both lanes entering the pits? If so, the moves entering were A-Ok. If not, then Hammy and Alonso are subject to penalties. As for the pit lane stuff... if it was unsafe release (which is really all it can be), then generally it's a fine. Hamilton didn't give up, but Vettel swerved to the right to push Hamilton towards the mechanics - very very bad joojoo for doing that, IMO.
Yeah, but was it before or after the speed limit line, which is the defacto beginning of "pitlane". The pit entry is technically part of the track and passing under the safety car is verboten...
So it could be that Hamilton is OK on the entry but I don't see how Alonso could be... the safety car was out right? And he clearly made a pass on track
