I have to confess that I was one of the people who said he'd get absolutely destroyed by Hamilton (probably like anyone else who follows F1 though).

    Guess I was proven wrong!

So far, He'll need to be watching his back the rest of the way. Lewis's criticisms of the team could promote Button to garnering the critical position of team favorite within Macca, much like Senna vs Prost. But, like Senna found out, it doesn't guarantee a trophy...

Same here, I think Button using his head more while Hamilton is more aggressive overall.

McLaren is Hammy's team but if anyone can change that, its Button.

It's still early in the season for this sort of article, but I must say, I'm enjoying it so far. I didn't think Button had it in him but I guess I was wrong, we'll see how it plays out. Go Jenson!

Yeah, I think the Mclaren partnership has something of the hare and the tortoise about it. So far the tortoise is winning.

Does anyone actually think Button will end the 2010 year with more points than Hamilton?

I hate to be a Coulthard and be told you so type. The early wins will really help Jense, as he will be relaxed and will not fold if he goes through a dry spot and gets trounced by Hamilton.

Given the tire situation and the management of them, LH is the driver needing to alter his style a bit. He has admitted almost as much in recent press items. I dont think JB has alot to worry about. The key has been qualifying.

The better that is the less stress you have to place on your tires to make up positions in the race. Im seeing these 2 as almost equals. Different strengths and weaknesses but nothing so glaring as to say one is a magnitude better than the other. Its a nice competition.

In hindsight JB might have been a bit under rated. Its now apparent he can lead a team and handle pressure quite well.

Maybe Mclaren should build another chassis to suit Lewis's style...:D

    JB was underrated.

Normal service will be resumed shortly, LH will ahead by mid season methinks.

It would be surprising if this chassis wasn't designed with Lewis in mind.
The issue seems to be tire management. Jensen's just better at it.
Wouldn't it be a kick if Button was still ahead of Lewis at the end of the season;)

There's a reason Ross said that Jense is one of the best driver he's worked with...

Yes I'm sure it is built with LH in mind, so full credit to Button for doing the business in it, in a wily fox type manner.

Well I did say at the start of the season tyre management will play into JB hands, he is also good in the wet, if he keeps himself out of trouble maybe.

Very interesting if Button keeps his lead I agree, it a underdog type support I like.

In the short amount of time I have been following F1, I have seen many races and even championships esssentially lost by mistakes, vs lack of talent. Driver to driver, JB makes fewer mistakes than LH. Fast aggressive driving may get you an extra position or two in a race, but a single mistake can take you completely out.

I would agree with you: I believe he has talent and he will give Hamiton some serious grief.
