Steve, Roberto- I see, said the blind man. The polished aluminum looks really good against the red paint. I just assumed they were decals like the later cars. That is actually much nicer than decals and matches some of the engine components.

Maybe lower the car a tad, looks a bit 4x4-ish

Thanks Glenn, the kit I used for this project is the G2 ( about $36 ) and about the lettering .... no paint, just sand it off.

LOL, I like the definition 4x4-ish, and yes I will lower the car ... perhaps not too much ... 1 inch.

I think your calipers rock! I also like the 360 wheels, plan to order a set off e-bay for my car tomorrow. Someone in the past painted my calipers red, but they now need a repaint. I was just going to get the the red caliper paint kit from Advance Auto and sand the Ferrari embossment down and clear coat like you did. I also don't mind the ride height, could be lower, but I have owned my car about 3 weeks now and whacked the front end at least 4 times. Someone rivited an aluminum skid guard of sorts onto the bottom of my front lip, so at least I haven't ripped any fiberglass off yet - I've got to learn how to drive this thing! When I get my wheels in I'll re-paint my calipers and get some pics of the car - I installed a Lemans rear tail light assy last week.

Erich- You know, I heard exactly the same thing about you from a couple of sources, including people who know you well, so it sounds like you have a bigger problem. Want to take a vote on who is more irrelevant?

    mi gusto mucho!

Gives more "pop" to an otherwise drab area, also the 360 wheels look fantastic on the 348.

He loves to pm you his "thoughts and personal insults" and then publically posts your private comments back to him as "rude and offensive" and portrays himself as the "injured party" in the exchange to prop up his "esteem". Seen it too many times before. Also he seems to seek out other forums you might be involved with and tries to discredit you there as well, then "leaves" that forum usually stating it was your fault as to why he no longer wishes to be a member. He seems to be relentless in pm'ing the personal attacks to get a response to turn it around publically to boost his ego...What ever floats the boat....
Just because I live in Atlanta, I'm considered "trailer trash".... Dam! I sure do live in a nice trailer!

have to empty my junk mail area and don the teflon to get ready for the next onslaught now.

I just finished re-painting my calipers red. A tip for those wanting to do this and have the Ferrari embossment silver without all the sanding. Just after you spray each coat of paint on use a piece of masking tape and press it carefully on the word Ferrari, peal it off and about 90% of the paint will come off with the tape, next just spray a little of the brake cleaner you used to clean the calipers before painting them onto a clean lint free rag and carefully wipe/dap the rest of the red paint off (be careful not to touch anything with the rag but the Ferrari embossment. This gives you a nice clean embossment without sanding. I will probably sand mine lightly after the paint has hardened and brush on some clear coat. I will do this as soon as my 360 wheels arrive.

Quick question here ... What is the best 'kit' for painting calipers ? I know G2 offers a kit. Are there others in the marketplace too ?

I know when I considered panting some calipers I was warned that the paint needs to be cured and needs to be able to withstand high temperatures. Is this a concern with the paint in this kit?
