    The best part is we have found a way to have it fit over a stowed top so you will not have to remove your top. It will fit securely with NO MODIFICATION to Tim's car.

    I am perfecting the fit and finish so as to satisfy the perfection required for Ricambi and Eurospares to handle it. When they get it, it will be perfect and pending their iminent approval You will see it in their catalogs.
    The journey however is not finished yet, I honestly don't know how a 355 berlinetta owner could bring themselves to sell their car. The look and feel of the B is IMO the perfect car. I am a avid top off guy too having several fiat spiders in my late teens and twenties and thoroughly enjoy and look forward to going topless but the character of the B is far superior in terms of driving experience. Anyone who has drivin both could confirm that. It really is amazing how after initially going for look only, the top has achieved the rigidity which changes the attitude of the car in the corners and general feel. As a genuine owner and primarily a passionate Ferrari enthusiast all my life I am pretty impressed at the completeness of the end product. Regardless of sales of these things, this has been a really great experience and although I'm not finished yet, I think I (we) have added something special to ferrari ownership. I love seeing the responses of equally passionate owners, stay tuned as Tim's top will be special. These parts are HANDMADE by CRAFTSMEN, Just like my Ferrari.

    I think your creation is fantastic Jeff, i really do:). I have followed this thread from day one as you know, and have enjoyed it. You have been both open and frank with your responces, well done.
    So glad you dispensed with the roll bar idea, i was never a big fan of them on the spider. There was never any way they were ever going to look right on the classic lines of the spider. Talking of classic lines, you have done a first class job of creating beautiful lines with your replacement roof on the spider.
    All together, a great effort mate, and well done :)

    ^thanks Sam, I'm curious as to your opinion of the cap?

    I will be posting pics of the interior carbon fiber molded part and the progress of Tims top for those that are interested.

    This is clearly the single best aftermarket improvement for any modern Ferrari.

    This alone would make me consider purchasing a 355 spider, something in the past I would have never considered.

    Amy idea as to the prices?

    This is Tim's top which I brought home to throw over my prized Spider which is itself, almost ready to roll. (consequently, having trouble getting the top down)

    Jeff, the roof is simply amazing, true craftsmanship as is the cap, but didn't you originally have a flatter cap design? I think you mentioned your vision was for a 360 style for the covering but I would like to see a lower less curved look for the 355 cap.
    Please don't take this as a negative, just a personal choice :)

    The hood cap very much reminds me of Shaquille o neals ex 355 spider. F-mans cap seems to be of a lower profile, but it still looks simular.

    How did Shaq fit in a 355? Didn't he have size 21 feet? Did he stick his head over the windscreen???
    I know this cap was probobly designed with the extra speakers in mind but I think it looks terrible, which shows how well proportioned Fmans cap is, but I would still like to see something lower profile with less of a hump.

    Me thinks Shaq's cap does not even stack up to Jeff's. It looks waaayy too big. A bit silly looking compared to Jeff's.

    X11OUD, The conversion was done on shaqs car to give him the extra room for his size. It was not built around his ICE system, it was just for extra room.

    Mighty Ferrari just to make it clear, i did not post Shaqs car as a comparison. I just said F-mans cap REMINDED me of Shaqs car.
    On one of my old PCs, i also have pictures of another simular cap that was done in the UK from a few years back.

    LOL!!! The Shaq cap! How could it be any less. Thanks for the pics, that is amazing. If you look at the 16m scud. the cap in real life is more similar to that but somehow even more suttle. The pictures have trouble nailing it.

    I would love to have Shaqs seats in that car, they look incredible.

    Yes, the cap was slimmer and it was made to work with the roll bar. But by itself, it looked a little dated and too much like the stowed soft top cover. I wanted to create something that enhanced and improved the look of my car and look factory.

    On the 355 that is a tall order indeed.

    It's coming along, I am experimenting with some marine type lockdowns. The fit is great though. Stay tuned.
