so, after 15 months of ownership of my 95 355Spider I got caught in some rain in Seattle this past Saturday - go figure )

The wipers worked great, but in the intermittent band there are three stops. At each stop the time delay was identical - about 4-5 seconds. Wondering, if this is normal on all 355's or do I have some issue? Not a big deal of course since I don't (as do most owners) make it a habit of being out in the rain.

Thanks for the input - for those of you that drive in inclement weather.

the good news - no water leaks, the window to top seals very well.

Did you try turning the knob on the end of the lever in the "intermittent" position (the first position you find when after "off"?

The end of the stalk didn't seem to move independently of the rest of the stalk - it seemed to rotate as a single unit.

I meant to continue - in mine the three positions work, decreasing the time between wipes as you turn the knob towards the screen. Don't know where the timer unit is located though!

Mike - on mine (a LHD Euro model) it's the knurled ring mounted inboard from the "knob end" if you like that you turn. This knurled ring rotates independently from the wiper stalk.

Correct this knurled ring is what I was rotating and at each stop (3 total) the interval was the same, so my control has some problem. Maybe it just needs more use to wake it up??

Well, mine got plenty of action today. You're right though - that knob doesn't see much action and it could very well be bad contacts. Time to scoosh a bit of contact cleaner in there. Hope that it's an easy fix for you!
