    I was sitting around borded, and when I get bored I kind a do something stupid. Well I was looking at my 348 and thought wouldn’t it be cool to have a glass bonnet, and away I went. So I found a used engine lid $200 (it wall all damaged, but didn't matter I was going to cut it up anyway) and started down the road of designing what I wanted it to look like I seen the typical square glass but once again I needed it to be different. So I shaped it. I CNC cut a frame and started to graph it into the lid. I sent the same pattern to a custom glass shop who used a water jet to cut the glass and then sent it out to be tempered, should be back next weekend only $70 bucks Canadian, that gives me time to have the frame all welded together and painted. Once I get the glass back I will bring it to a glass installation place and get them to install it, can’t wait. I will install the original grille around it add cut it to the same shape.

    I really have to stop doing things like this. Oh well if I don’t like it I can always go back to my original bonnet. What will I do for the rest of the summer.

    I think it going to tune out cool. I couldn't wait to take the picture once I put the frame section on the back of the car, it fit perfect.

    Wow my fellow Canadian Paisano very very cool, I like it, I like it a lot if it turns out would you consider making others?

    Always disliked the lid and the back end of the 348, kind of boring, the front and sides look great then it's like they changed designer for the rear end lol. I was in the proses of making a rear wing for my spider when catastrophe struck with my engine(but thats a whole other topic:)). With your lid and my wing the 348 will look stunning :D.

    Will I make another? I'll see. I do have the tools now to do it again. Once I'm done I'll see if there is anything I would change. I do have my original one still, may be do that one and sell it where you would trade yours back to me for an exchange. Something for me to think about.

    very cool, except now that your motor is going to be exposed, you are gonna need to do some dress up!

    some ideas: Get you intake manny powder coated a nice Ferrari Red, and the those two curved intake tubed, get those replaced with carbon fiber pieces. then maybe look at what you can paint, replace with carbon, or hide (as in wire tuck, etc.)

    Deal I would gladly do that. Any more pics yet?

    He makes a good point, I just re did my engine, I changed the color of the airbox and matched it to the plenum with red accents also blacked out the headers and Hyperflows, I will post pics when all is completed should be next week I hope.

    Well, got the deck lid back from sand blast and it looks great. Finished cutting the grille to fit and looks good so far, just started cutting the black mesh that goes under. Sending it to the body shop tomorrow for them to do there magic and make it look perfect. Glass should be here by Friday, can't wait.
