I went to Scottsdale Ferrari with my best friend, who is almost as big a Ferrari nut as I am, and he asked "Which one can we sit in?" My heart skipped a beat when the salesman went and got the keys for the red F430 Spider with tan leather. I was in heaven but forgot to get pics. I can't wait to actually purchase my Ferrari from them.

I stop by all the time. I drive the white lifted F250 Diesel with "Sparkplugs Suck" sticker on the back window. Not the typical Ferrari lover "other car" but I am treated well evry time I go there. I never touch the cars as I see them as art. Your sales staff never sho me away. Thank you for helping me keep my dream alive...

I went to our local Ferrari dealer who INSISTED that I test drive the new California. I've never had so much love from a dealer. I guess it helps that I drove up in my 328.

Porsche dealers, OTOH, are total snobs when it comes to test driving their cars. Even when I drove up in the superior car.....the 328. I couldn't even get a test drive!

aI guess my original point is that they are not snobs at all. I routinley sneek peeks at the cars in the service bays, no one stops me, it is one of my favorite stops when I'm near there. I've been in some other exotic car shops and got the destinct feeling they couldn't wait till the hoi piloy (sp) left their personal space.

James, Matt- That is how it is supposed to work. Good on both of you. Young enthusiasts grow up to be loyal customers because both of you treat each other and the cars with respect.

Whenever someone admires my car (not that often), I offer to let them sit in it. Every little bit helps to make another future Ferrari owner.

Cauley Ferrari in Metro Detroit was really cool to me. I went in there earlier in the year to get some preliminary information on Ferrari ownership, and made it fully clear that I was not gong to be able to buy one for at least a year, yet the salesman opened up any of the cars I wanted to see and sit in, loaded me up with tons of info and swag, and I ended up buying $100 worth of posters. Keep in mind that I am 24, and shaggy haired.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I was down in Charleston SC visiting my girlfriend late last year, and we visited a Nissan dealership to look at a GTR... we showed up in her 2002 Rav-4 and they were less than enthusiastic. They wanted me pre approved before even opening the car. Wth? I dont want to have my credit checked just to LOOK at a car. They eventually opened it for me, but still blew me off. Whatever. When I got home, I bought my M3, and havent looked back.... well... until now!

Dealerships that treat you with respect definitely stick in your head. Regardless of where I live in a few years, guess where my first Ferrari will be bought from?
