Alright, so my F360's bumper got cracked on the bottom right corner. (long story, I wasnt driving, the previous owner (family member) lent it out... and stuff happened)

So, I need to get it replaced. I was wondering what the cheapest bumper out there is.

    I found this one: http://www.octanemotorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=73364&cPath=6453#googlebase

But my worry is that its too cheap.

    I also found this: http://www.kgsengineering.com/product_info.php?products_id=21334

Buuuut Im not sure either. Any tips?

Also, where can I pick up a cheap CS bumper?

If it was my car I'd remove the bumper and repair it. Fiberglass is easy to work with. Then have it resprayed at a quality autobody shop.
Of course someone here would probably demand that I post the VIN number since the car now has a story and the bumper has been inexpensively repaired.

Factory bumpers are not fiberglass. They are ABS plastic. A good body shop can fix it. If you go CS bumper, you'll need to do the side skirts too or it will look out of place. From the pic, does not look too bad.

    Good luck.

The part he hit is fiberglass. Its a quick easy repair for any competent autobody shop... Pull the bumper get it fixed, probably for under $4-500 easily. I would venture to say half the 360's out there have had some kind of paint or touch up on lower front bumbers...

Dont sweat it- easy fix. Good time while the bumber is off to replace with some true Ferrari sounding horns :)

    Good luck-
    Chris

I would get it fixed. I had the lower part of my 360's bumper resprayed twice because of scrapes.

The CS bumper would look good though. You should email Daniel at Ricamb (site sponsor)i to see what he has in stock and recommends.

Just fix it - if it happened once it will happen again. I would do as everyone else suggest otherwise you are getting into a whole bunch of work. Plus the first thing when you go to sell is - why does it have that CS bumper. Good luck explaining that to a buyer.

Fix it. The worst thing you will do is to put an aftermarket product. The original is far better even if fixed. The un initiated driver will do this as he has no idea about these cars and the fact that they are low and while he negotiates a driveway he needs to find an angle otherwise this will happen again. Good Luck.

I agree with the others... just fix it. It's only plastic like any other vehicle.

You have the right attitude about "stuff happens" though!

Alrighty, I called up one auto shop, and they quoted me at 1500-2000... I think they're ripping me off.

I am going to another ferrari specific guy soon. I will let you guys know.

    Thanks for all the help!

BTW, does anybody use or recommend the Hill Engineering skid plates and if so, the aluminum ones or the plastic?

You should take it down for an estimate. Over the phone they will for sure give you a high bid.

My 355 has the same thing. Accidentally went over a parking lot separator. They quoted me $1100 for fixing it and a respray.

    Getting it done next month.

Cars are cars. Nobody is going to care if your front bumper has been resprayed. Rock chips, etc happens on all cars--doesn't matter if it's an Accord or an Enzo.

    Drive them and fix them!

You dont need to pay a ferrari tax on this repair.... any competent shop can easily correct. Just make sure they have the right paint & its a piece of cake.

They are attempting to triple the charge because its a Ferrari....

Dang, I totally forgot about this thread!

I got it patched, at a shop in Mira Mesa (I think) that is pretty much ferrari specific.

Great work by the shop. I'll get you guys the cost and the name of the shop when I get home. I'm in china right now haha.

I took out a Opossum a couple of years ago that cracked the lower front passenger portion of the bumper. There is no fiber material in there, just a whitish chaulky stuff. My Body Shop called it SMC or something like that. He got my Insurance Co. to pay for a new factory bumper... $4k, no paint. What came in looked like a factory reject, no shipping box or protective wrap. The primer had many runs, drips. Quite a lot of work was required to get it ready for paint. It looks great now, with a perfect color match to the body.

    Good luck with your repair.
