my 348 is a rare model? :S

    hi friends, I have one ferrari 348 2 years ago, seeing in the f-chat- youtube, internet etc, I see basic 2 models of 348, 348 TS 90-93 with the antenna in the roof and single clutch disc valeo, I think 300hp, and 348 GTS 93-95 is the same car but the antenna is in the front glass and use dual disc clutch ap racing 320 hp I think. ok, then, but why my car is of september 92 and have radio antenna in the front glass but single valeo clutch disc?

    I don´t know what efi I have, I don´t understand where are the diferences on the motronic tipes, for this reason I don´t know what efi I have and too , what is my car

    is one hibrid? hahah

    some body know? I can take pics of the efi if you need

    Stas un poco engañado...

    Los primeros 348 tenian un embrage duplo, pero despues le an aplicado embrages simples en toda la linea, incluso algunas unidades de las primeras an sido transformadas en embrage simple.

    Las antenas no tienen relacion directa con el tipo de 348 pues es una opcion.

    Algunas evoluciones de los 348 an sido los generadores y los motores de puesta en marcha japoneses, y el cambio de la posicion del acumulador desde atras, para delante de la rueda delantera ezquierda.

    Los GTS y GTB solo fueram presentados en finales de 1993, y esos tenian 320cv por la diferencias en el motor.

    I can´t understand this --->el cambio de la posicion del acumulador desde atras, para delante de la rueda delantera ezquierda

    my car have the starter motor and alternator DENSO, (japan) then, you know if my car is ts or gts? in the rear door motor the car have TS, I think is one TS, but all diferences are the same GTS, exept the efi, I don´t know what efi I have...

    yes yes, I don´t have any problem whit the car, for me is the best car of the world (because I can´t buy one f40 :D ) but I´m very happy with my 348 :D

    Algunos mejoramientos an sido hechos durante los primeros años de los 348, y uno dellos es cambiar la posicion de la bateria desde atrás (al lado del escapamiento) asi adelante de la rueda delantera ezquierda.

    Otro mejoramiento son los equipamientos Denso y el embrague simple.

    Seguro que tu coche es un TS normal, pero com algunos de los muy beneficos mejoramientos. Los motores costumbram tener su numero en el boque F119D o F119G.

    Los GTS tienen el motor diferente (F119H), el escapamiento es de una solo pieza, el colector de admission es mas alto, y los assientos tienen sus almohadas de sacar.

    With a September 1992 build date it's probably a 1993 model year euro gts. Windshield antenna started in 92, single disc clutch in 93 model year cars (roughly). You have a Motronic 2.7 system in your car.

    3forty8, May I disagree?

    Indeed if it has a build date of 09/1992, it's probably a 1993 model year. But, not a GTS. My GTS was one of the only two officialy imported to Portugal by the Ferrari dealerships and it has a very late 1993 build date, making it a 1994 model year.

    Not in this thread, but on the previous posted thread (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=283431) you may find some photos of this car, and check that for example the front grill is not the late one...

    So, usually I check for the following when trying to find out if indeed it is an original GTS or GTB:

    - front grill (late trype)
    - rear chrome cavalino
    - body coloured skirts and engine lid
    - seats bottom cushion (Spyder style)
    - higher plenum chamber (diferent ribs)
    - single canister exhaust system
    - F119H engine marking or indication on documents

    What do you mean by 'single canister exhaust system'
    Is the exhaust different between the later Motronic 2.7 TB/TS cars and the GTB/GTS
    I was thinking the 136277 and 136278 where put on both types

    ok, gracias ! ahora entiendo lo de la bateria detras de la rueda ! el mio la tiene jusnto al motor, su español es medianamente bueno ;)

    ok, thanks ! now, I understand the batery is in the front wheel,the mine has near of the engine. your spanish is medium good ;)

    Indeed, NO.

    The exhaust is even diferent from the Spyder I believe.

    My single canister exhaust is the reference 157351.

    Your front grille is not latter type. The latter one has a slim trim all around. Please see the photo.

    Also, the higher plenum chamber has diferent ribs. Also check the photos.

    If indeed the engine is a F199H (10,8:1 compression ratio), you can find the marking on the block, under the inlet manifold, about 10cm in front of where the oil filter screws, as in the photo.

    yes, now I understand of the front grille and yes, my model no is latter type :(

    and this intake manifold (pic) is diferent of the mine.

    the code engine in the documents is F119H but the next mounth I will make the service 40.000 kilometers, I will see this near of the oil filter ;)
