Anyone here use it..if so, what have you gained or side effects have you had?
Was on this stuff (topical) for approx. a year and a half. IIRC it's expensive without insurance, smells, is sticky and you want to put that **** on and let it "dry" waaaaaay before you put your clothes on. Even after "drying" your sleeves and clothing in contact may still stick to your skin. After a while you'll need to switch where you apply it as it might develop a rash (happened to me). I had the "low T" issue before I got back in the gym and started training really hard. I figured I didn't need it after around 18 months...had no problems dropping Testim after losing nearly 70lbs and packing on a bunch of muscle. I'm more aggressive and horny than ever without that stuff! RMX
Do you attribute your "... losing nearly 70lbs and packing on a bunch of muscle..." to the 18 month use of Testim ?
No, sir. I attribute getting up at 4:40am every morning, going to the gym, doing 30min of intense cardio, 45 min of lifting and a very strict diet devoid of sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and soda for the 70lb loss! I was inactive for a long time and my Dr told me I had low testosterone and put me on that stuff. THEN I started going to the gym. Now, without it for over a year, I am way aggressive and do not think I need extra testosterone. I couldn't imagine. RMX
My understanding is that some docs have seen a correlation between belly fat and low testosterone levels. It's sort of a catch-22 situation where low testosterone leads to low energy, so you aren't willing/able to go out and excercise to get rid of the bellyfat. Remix- what could have happened is that the test replacement therapy allowed you to get the incentive to go out and hit the gym, etc. Disclaimer: I am not in this field directly, but went to an interesting conference some time ago regarding this issue. Maybe a physician here can chime in to confirm what I heard at the seminar. Interesting stuff for sure.
I am already in relativity good shape and work out three times per week. My doctor mentioned the Testim to me and I was wondering how much, if any, it would help with muscle growth and cutting?
What are your statistics: age, weight, height. If you think that Testim is going to increase your lean muscle I think you will be disappointed. I personally tried AndroGel a couple of years ago and was very disappointed with the results. I would try to get your doctor to prescribe/administer injectable Testosterone. I just don't know how effective the gel is. Yes, it will increase your testosterone levels over time, but the injectable is more effecient. What are your personal goals from working out? What is your diet? What supplements are your taking? I have been working out for the past 16 years and will turn 50 this November. Feel free to PM me if your have any questions. Don
No, my incentive was that I weighed 227lbs and wore size 42 pants. I was going to the gym sparingly prior to this and had zero progress. My doc said I had both low testosterone AND I was 0.1 point away from being diabetic. That did it for me. His advice was to cut out processed sugars, carbs and take in fewer calories than I expend. Pretty freaking simple, why didn't I think of that?? I am also on stage a lot and around a lot of good looking (read: younger) women. Nothing like being a giant soft butterball when a hot girl wants their photo taken with you...girls usually put their arm around your waist and you just KNOW they feel that big ol mushy inner tube. I was also having back problems. I now wear a 33" jean and am 9% or 10% body fat. No bad back issues anymore. I DEFINITELY do NOT have a problem with low testosterone anymore. In fact, I feel like I want to beat the crap out of people pretty regular! RMX Pics from 2007 (before) and then 2010. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm 52, 190lbs, 5'11". I weighed 242lbs just 5 years ago until I started an exercise and diet routine consisting of lifting three days a week and cardio 2 days a week. I would think that any increase in testosterone would allow for some increase in lean muscle as long as one continues to exercise and eat well...
If you are on hormone replacement such as this does your body "get used" to being supplied with outside sources and shut down what your body naturally would have made? I read that was an issue with conventional steroid abuse, getting off of the stuff is rough. Just wondering...
The Testim will increase your testosterone levels and you MAY increase some lean body muscle. Ths Testim is a supplement to your own production of testosterone. Tundrapile as you age your natural production of testosterone will decrease with most men. The tesosterone is a supplement to this natural occuarance to help you keep your testosterone levels in a normal range. As such you are not shutting down your natural production of testosterone as in steriods. Also, the doctor is following your levels by doing blood test to keep you in a normal range of testosterone levels. Parkerfe-- at 5'11" and 190 pounds you have done a great job on your diet. What do you not like about your body now and want to see further improvements? Doing cardio 2x per week could probably increase to 4x per week if you still have weight hanging on to mid-section. I personally like the stair stepper for cardio as it really makes me sweat. I do 25-30 minutes 6x per week. Don
I believe this is the same perscription I recently got. Is it the white topical cream you rub on your forarms or thighs? I do it once a day ALWAYS in the evenings just before I go to bed. Is there a better way (Time/Place) to take it?
I used this stuff for a year and, trust me, I went off with no ill effects and I'm more aggressive and horny than I can ever remember. RMX
I have been using Androgel for about 9 months, there is no doubt that it helps retain and also encourages lean muscle growth...it is not a cure all...that is, don't believe all of the hype about dramatic results in only a month or so...has not substantially increased my libido...it was ok to begin with...
