    I've had plugs done near the centerline which held fine... on our Cayenne which, for some reason, attracts nails and screws on a very regular basis. Of course, you need more than just one of the oily rags they push through the hole from the outside. The tire has to come off and most of the work has to be done on the inside of tire.

    I'm with Don here - no way would I try to plug a tire with a puncture in that location.

    Far wiser than a plug, I think. :)

    When patching a corner like that, it's difficult to get the large tire grinder at such an angle but I have done it, on my own car even. I actually had two holes right next to each other, plugs had failed, and I could see my hand right through the hole. Used one patch to cover them both. It's still holding perfectly a year later. Of course, I don't drive much faster than 100, usually.

    Usually the push/pull plug deal works pretty well. I've used it a number of times and have never had any problems (as long as it's up on the tread).

    As far as that emblem problem.. I think that can also be fixed with an H&K USP .40 :) Assuming you see the guy trying to remove it I mean :)

    I have Avon's on my 348. Great tires; Good Reviews by Tirerack! For less than $100 a piece, you can't go wrong.
