NV title lists mileage as Exempt

Speedo was replaced during Federalization ( Kilometers changed to Miles).. Anytime you remove the speedometer the car becomes TMU true mileage unknown..

that in most states anything over 10-15 years old (depending on the state) become mileage exempt.

Its a strange fact... but none the less it is a fact. All cars, regardless of prestige or origin can become mileage exempt in most states. It is not common to see it on the title but it possible and part of a not so "standard" yet standard procedure

 

There is a big difference in "TMU" (true miles unknown) and "mileage exempt" on title. Most states after a car is 10 years old not keep track of mileage and "miles exempt" shows up on title automatically. Nothing wrong with that.

+1. I have two cars with titles listed as mileage exempt....no odometer replacement ever, not euro cars, just old. Mileage is exact and documented, not over 100k (over mechanical limits). Just old.

 

In NV anything over 15 years is exempt. In fact, you can't even list it on the title if you want to, NV DMV will not accept it, it must be exempt. So its normal
