I know this could be a simple stupid Question. Some ppl refer to their 348 with a F in front of the 348. I would think the F stands for Ferrari and not formula. Please correct me and why some do others do not.

The Ferrari 348 was a 348, not an "F348." So anyone who has called it F348 is technically incorrect.

The "F" that Ferrari has put in front of some models -- like F40, F50, F355, F512M, and F430 -- could either refer to "Ferrari" or refer affectionately to the Formula One heritage of the Ferrari brand. I cannot be sure if either or both is true.

This is what I was thinking. I never saw an advertisement that said F40 and so on.
