We never did hear what happened with this one. Bill?
Ever consider stuffing an aluminum block chevy in? Aside from the engineering , might be much cheaper and as reliable as a station wagon and as fast as a vette?
I do like aluminum SBC's (well LS1 variants anyway) but put one in my 355 and I'll ghost ride it off a cliff.
It certianly would take away from the exotic thing , but if this guy is really having troubles with a highly tuned motor , the SBC seem's like a great way for him , or perhaps a ford fusion? LOL!
I know I pulled a 355 engine out of the trailer, mounted it on a stand and stripped it all down to do a pre sale inspection at his request. Checked out fine as a good core and then never could get a message returned after multiple attempts.... There is a good reason we no longer do that on a phone request!!! I used to have a complete core, now I have boxes of parts and didnt get paid to make it that way.... a tad frustrating at minimum.
I always give the benefit of the doubt... there might be a good reason for this to happen the way it did but it doesnt change the outcome.
His last post is March 10, 2010 where upon he states his 360 and 355 motor are with Enginefixer. Not very cool at all to have you tear down a motor for an inspection with the buyer having no intention of buying it. Grenading, not one but two motors suggests that someone does not appreciate the red line of these motors.
What a crazy string of events ........... maybe I should rebuild my motor just to be on the safe side .....
