The York A/C compressor on my BB needs to be rebuilt. My questions is, does anyone know of an upgrade that can be done for the BB512.
    Will a TR compressor fit?

The Boxer OEM compressor cools fine. It's the air delivery that is insufficient...

If its the same compressor as a 308 then there's new ones readily available for maybe five hundred bucks and/or loads of articles in the 308 section about optimising the system with or without changing it

These comments are steering you right...I'd make sure the bearings/seals/reed valves are good in the compressor.....THEN:

Pull and examine fans and gaskets in the blower boxes.

Pull vents and renew diverter flaps (often leather, dried and peeled by now.)

Clean the evaporator coils with HVAC coil cleaner, same with the condenser coil in front of the radiator. Check or change the dryer and expansion valve....

Finally, replace/renew any and all foam strip seals around the radiator/condensor, against the hood, all the stuff the seals against air migration and forces it the flow thru the radiator/condensor supports.

Then you'll have it optimized. But because of the large glass areas, it may still not keep up with direct sunlight.

The systems has been recharged using R134. All of the seals and rubbers are new.
    The fans work well.

As a matter of fact I don't think there is anything left to replace on my car. ( oh, oh I am wrong, the compressor needs bearings it is just starting to emit a little noise)

It reminds me of my first Ferrari, a 1980 308 which was a little better than the 512BB but not much.

Thanks everyone for all your help, I will be asking my wife to disrobe and have a cool suit for any other passengers.
