The day is coming up fast. This event has always been a hit. Especially for the kids getting the ride of their life. Give Craig Forbes a call at 678-802-5000 for this year's details. I hear they will have more needy kids this year than in the past.

RSVP to [email protected] for driver registrations

    Thanks for helping :)

So do all the drivers meet up near perimeter mall and then head up with your co pilot to FoA?

Thanks for everyone's interest in the Dream Ride. This year will be our biggest yet and promises to bring smiles to many deserving children. We will start at Seasons 52 once again and will have police escort to the dealership.

Looks alike about 90 drivers are signed up for the event making this event our largest to date. It's great to have the support of the exotic car community. There will be a cocktail party at the Ritz on Friday night to kick the whole thing off. Come join us from 6pm to 8pm at the wine room at the Ritz.

For any of you guys attending the Dram Rides for Kids Saturday, you are welcome to my brother in laws car wash. I'm going to get the guys to open up early around 7 am. Of course I will bring my own new wash mits and towels ;). If you want you can wash the car yourself.

Call me and let me know if you plan on stopping by. If there are more cars than mine, I will get more workers to show up.

Another successful Dream Ride for Kids hits the history books. 86 cars and almost 80 kids convened on Seasons 52 at Perimeter for our fifth annual event.
Fantastic weather and the smiling faces of drivers and kids make this event one we look forward to doing every year.
Many thanks to all the drivers who broke out their cars to make this happen. Pics will follow.

Will, I hope that you don't me preempting your photos with some of my own. I had a great time and enjoyed all of the great cars, and the drive up 400, while not still without a bit of "rubber-banding", was much better organized than last year. (I did, though see some guys enter I-285 going eastbound; they did catch up with us later.)

The last two cars in this batch are interesting: a not-often-seen-anymore Maserati Biturbo (which I think made Masermartin a bit sorry that he had sold his) and a beautiful Alfa Giulietta from Ivan Ruiz.

I had a great time seeing eveyone and all the cars. Thanks to FoA for another great time. I loved seeing the helicopter depart, that was neat.

Gee, Mitch, I guess I missed you! I actually saw the helo flying overhead as I drove back to Cobb - can't miss that paint job!

Here are my first photos after arriving at FoA. Couldn't forget to photograph my man Brandon posing with his ride. Great kid; we had fun together, and I wish him the best.

And the cavallini were there as usual, but this year they got good digs: a tent and some nice cool grass to stand on. I think that horses and handlers were both happy for that.

And the paint job on that Cobra helo! Much nicer than usual Army olive drab.

Anyone know the story on the Lusso racer that was in the shop? I've never seen one in racing garb before.

Will, thank you for organizing this Fantastic Event.

We sometimes forget that the family and loved ones suffer greatly as well through this horrific disease called cancer. I was glad to see siblings paricipating in the ride, they deserve it.

It is wonderful to see this event grow. Looks like FOA is running out of room....what to do?

Thank you Will again for all your hard work in putting this Event together.

    Ciao,
    George

I forgot to mention an obvious, but many times forgotten "Thank You" to Ferrari of Atlanta.
Without this committed company, the car community would be all the much poorer.

The Dream Ride tee shirts, wonderful lunch, and the subsequent fellowship that took place was fantastic. Thank you FOA!

For those who had to leave early and missed the helicopter take-off, here is my spin on it.

I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I had no idea of what was going to happen until I heard this Bad Boy fire up. The next thing I know this helicopter goes into an accelerated horizontal lift to about 500 or 600 ft. [first shot]

As this was happening, I quickly powered up the camera and raised it to fire, forgetting that somehow I was still holding an open bottle of water along with the camera. I got the shot, and water for an added refresher.

Once this helicopter hit the 600 ft mark, more or less, he went vertical [ballistic is the proper term I believe] still climbing like an arrow [second shot] all within a matter of seconds. At that point, the sky was so bright and the helicopter was so far away, I just guessed pulling the trigger on the second shot.

    Ciao,
    George

for all your comments and even more so for your participation. Without drivers and cars there is no Dream Ride. Five straight years of perfect weather and a great turnout makes all of us very thankful.
Great group of cars as well. Some of the vintage stuff is always exciting to see.

My co pilot told me a story about a black porsche that got into an accident last year with a child in the passenger seat. Thank God the child was ok. I did see a black GT3/2 that was weaving very fast back and forth in front of our caravan. I hope that was not the same guy from last year.

Besides that a class act event.
