Someone here picked up a euro GTB for 22k? ... was on ebay for a few hours only.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120564223934#ht_500wt_1182
An 89 giallo/black GTS (30,000 miles ??) went earlier this week for a BIN of $40k. Same day it was posted. Not a surprise .
I surprised that this hasn't been posted here. http://wichita.craigslist.org/ctd/1741926903.html Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's certainly been loved at some point in its life, it could be a better deal than the cruddy pictures indicate! Of course, there's the interior question...
Not too bad as a starting point. Euro car, single distributor, been hot-rodded a bit. Not the car for the purist, but worth checking out.
Carb'd Euro GTB: Where's the dry-sump tank, and why is there a filler cap on the cam cover? Something doesn't add up.
This car was discussed on another thread. There are more pictures showing a lot of interior modification to accomodate outdated electronics. This would be a big project for sure.
This mileage dosen't scare me. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=p&car_id=279989526&dealer_id=65311553&car_year=1987&rdm=1274987435206&lastStartYear=1981&model=&num_records=25&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=0&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=n&make=FER&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=1&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=91101&advanced=&end_year=2011&doors=&transmission=&max_price=25000&cardist=2173&standard=false
Wow. It appears to be a really, really good deal for someone, especially considering the car's recent service history. Fantastic color combination, too.
What's up with the write-up referring to a 1987 328 GTS (twice) as a "nineteen year old car"? Was this written in 2006? And if so, has it been sitting somewhere since that time? Even if it has, at that price, that car is more than a bit intriguing.
If it really did sell for this, someone got a carbed car. Btw, i could have sworn seeing this car being advertised for a higher price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260609648592

Pretty sure that's a scam. I remember another thread about it and the car is owned by an fchatter who was surprised it was advertised.

Don Ferrari 308 for sale or TRADE?? - $25000 (SEYMOUR, INDIANA) From: Todd A Van Natta <[email protected]>Add to Contacts To: Don Hinton <[email protected]> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It used to be skymaster aviation here locally, they worked on a lot of Lamborghini and Ferrari cars. The guy that owned it retired and closed shop June 1st. I have no idea who we will use going forward, I will have to look around. I have a f430, 355, fiberglass 308gtb, 456GT, 308GT4, and a 330 in addition to this 308. I am trying to liquidate a few cars that I dont really want to make room for a 03 murci I am going to buy from a friend of mine in carmel. If you are close by, feel free to come drive it, see what you think, etc. it is a nice car, I would rate the whole car a strong 7 / weak 8 on scale to 10. Hard to pick much, it is very nice. I used to be a member of fchat, but have been for a few years. Not much into the internet or computer scene. -----Original Message----- From: Don Hinton [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, June 04, 2010 11:06 AM To: Todd A Van Natta Subject: Re: Ferrari 308 for sale or TRADE?? - $25000 (SEYMOUR, INDIANA) I understand your distance from a Ferrari shop, who does your service on your cars? Car has 109k presently. I am unaware of any negatives on a ppi. I am 1.5 hours from anywhere that can do a ppi, and even at that it would be euromotorwerks at Indianapolis.....they arent a Ferrari shop or even close... just a porsche/benz/bmw shop. Has all paperwork from day one, including window sticker and full logs of service. Was magnum pi car in 1982-1983 prior to the show using a QV car. Seat rails modified to go farther back than normal for tom selleck. (no one can tell, looks factory of course) I am 6'1 and can put seat back where I cant reach pedals. Nice car... Price is not negotiable, at all. Zero. I have 7 ferrari's and do not care if I keep it or sell it, its just in the warehouse. -----Original Message----- From: Don Hinton [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, June 04, 2010 8:55 AM To: Todd A Van Natta Subject: Re: Ferrari 308 for sale or TRADE?? - $25000 (SEYMOUR, INDIANA) Is this a new engine (6k on engine from Italian motor sports) ? Doesn't sound like a scam at all. (ex, offer to come see the car, legit email address, etc.) Price is about right for an '82 car.
