toss in insanity for a change up and muscle confusion...other than that, what you are doing is good. changing up helps a lot.

since you are lifting try GVT(german volume training) . this has made a great difference for me

PM me if you want more tips

I'm currently doing P90X, but want to get insanity too. I've got a room and a half now completely dedicated to workout equipment. Hate to drop more money on Insanity, but P90X has me wanting more!

I actually have done P90X, P90X plus, the 10-minute trainer and Insanity. All I can say is they all are tough but work different aspects of fitness. I have worked out or played some kind of sport since 7th grade but nothing compared to the results I obtained from either of these. I think Insanity was the hardest overall and I had many nights lying in a pool of sweat in my garage at the end of each workout, but loved drinking the after workout energy drink and seeing the physical results. I quit my gym a long time ago as I never got results close to what I achieved with any of these. I'm currently training in krav maga at a center near my house and that is just as hard and you learn how to defend yourself in the process.

Insanity is about cardio. p90x is an overall workout. I have both and you need to decide what is your goal.

Optimally, it would be good to complete both.

My resting heart rate was 42, but I do a lot of running instead of the "cardio x" routine... I'm about the same weight, and 6'2" as well. It's currently 48.

I'm changing my vote! I'd been doing P90X ... but wanted Insanity too. I find P90X to be very rigorous (especially as one of those girls whose never really "worked out" before .. especially with weights). I can handle the 200 + push ups, but pulls ups are REALLY tough for me. I get through them - with the chair, I think the Plyometrics are fun and challenging, the Yoga is BORING for the first 45 minutes or so, and the rest is decent and my body aches .. but I don't seem to lose weight with it. I'm simply gaining muscle. (Toning is good, but I was hoping to shed my post baby weight! I gained 70 lbs with my kiddo that I had in March. Lost 40 on my own and am struggling getting off the last 30.) I just started Insanity 2 days ago ... yeah ... I'm a serious beginner ... and I've lost 4 lbs in 2 days from Insanity! So for weight loss WITH toning, I'm definitely seeing awesome results with Insanity more so than with P90X. (Went out tonight in a skirt I bought on Monday and it's too loose on me now!)

    keep it up ...

EXERCISE IS A LIFESTYLE not a fad. Train until you die for a better quality of life in the golden years.

Most I've seen while running uphill is 194! According to my age group, that is over 100% :p

I'm hoping that I'll be in the high 30's by the end of the summer; but who knows!

    Find a wall!

Seriously, I was fit before starting and I am much fitter after finishing P90X lean. I saw the Insanity infomercial and I'm interested.

I just did mi first leg/back portion and its a killer if u aren't use to doing leg exercises.

Biggest thing with either program is dedicating the time and having the discipline ...this is half the battle

The hardest part for me is sticking to the diet. Taking a cue from Garfield, that's "die" with a "t." :)

Just order P90X. Never thought I'd get thru the checkout; must have been ~ 8 screens offering various add-ons.

Been thinking about it awhile. I have a former colleague that does (did?) it and he had great results.

I opened the box months ago. And I watch the DVD's everyday - watch them sitting on my desk yet to be used. :(

In the meantime, one of my employees has lost almost 60 pounds and looks like Mr. Bobdybuilder by actually using his...

    One of these days...

This week I hope. My excuse of the moment is finding the right place; I don't want to sweat and stink up the living room. I need to make space in the extra bedroom/junkyard.

I've flipped thru the books but haven't popped in any DVDs. Congrats to your employee; I too have a colleague that had great success (his wife too).

Just a warning to anyone that plans on doing this without a good aerobic base, good luck! ;)

I just started and it is very challenging. The fit test had me tanked. Prior to starting I've been running 15-20 miles a week and lifting three days a week. I prefer the P90X for it's focus on strength but having recently injured my shoulder this is a great switch up.

Like everything else, if you invest the time it will work as promised.

I'm officially through my first month of Insanity. HUGE difference in my pot baby *4th kiddo* body already. Granted, I don't think I will have lost the extra 30 lbs I wanted to by the end of month two, but I've already dropped a couple dress sizes and am getting back into shape FAST!

You can also find them on eBay :) That's where I bought both of mine and got a great deal on both. They were unopened and they are the real versions.
