and its not like we were being obnoxious or exuding poor "karma", we were very professional and curtious, we werent bothering the sales staff to sit in the cars and stuff, just asking some simple financing questions regarding the purchase of a used car in their showroom

Theres nothing cheap about a car over 120k. Dealers at all levels prejudge and the potential customer you snub today will spend their 100+k somewhere else tomorrow. Tell your friend to find a car elsewhere and then e-mail the GM of CA with pics when he takes delivery and let them know they lost the sale. Come on guys 30k cash can mean anything from trade in to bills to a cashiers or personal check, but waking in a dealeer with 30k ready to spend means you are NFA and the dealer should know better. So shocking to hear that an exotic dealer was snobby. FWIW I have been given personal tours through LFSC on a sunday by the owner who just happened to be driving by and saw us there, granted we were there in 3 scuds a gallardo F355 spider and a Maser GTS but still ....... it left an impression on me.

 

Oh yes, I remember that day.

 

fwiw I'm speaking from experience. Went with a friend to a dealership around here with 30k cash to put down on a car several years ago.
