and he's a HUGE car nut like me (I'm an M3 owner). He loves the 360 and 430 and I've been trying to figure out a way to get him a ride in one. He's currently in the Joseph Richey Hospice center in Baltimore and I wanted to surprise him with a Ferrari but the rental prices are pretty darn expensive.

So, I thought a long shot might be to put a post on here and see if there was anyone that would be willing to try and make this happen. I can't tell you how much it would mean to him and me to see that smile on his face when we roll him out the building and he sees the car.

He's only 36 years old and this f#%king cancer has tore through him in only 4 months.

Anyway, I just wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone would be interested....and if so you can call me at 410.365.2767.

Thanks and well wishes to you all!

    Jason.

I have a 355 and will volunteer to help out however possible.

I am sure that you will have more than just myself willing to help.

Maybe we could arrange a drive with several cars?

Sorry to hear about your friend's situation - most unfortunate, I have a 355 also and would be happy to be help out, (depending on the date), perhaps you could lead a drive in the Baltimore countryside that would suit your friend's condition and capacity to sit in a car.

Very sorry to hear about your friend but there is always hope . My brother in law was only 24 when he was diagnosed with Limphoma , fought it hard with Chemo therapy and radiation & everything he had and + a very positive attitude and 18 months later recovering nicely. Some have managed to hang in there and show improvement even with Pancreatic cancer as bad as it sounds. Isn't Apples top exec. now into his seventh year and doing well?

I'm in California but I hope there are F-Chatters who are close enough to help put a smile on your friends face.

    All the best.

    I will pray for him.....
I am certain someone will handle your request. Consider opening it up to other F models too...they are ALL fun, and I am sure he would enjoy the ride(s).

Jason - What a wonderful friend you are!

I'm real busy with family events these days but if I can, I'd join a drive to honor your friend. The 308 isn't a modern Ferrari, but your friend is welcome to a ride.

I am really sorry about your friend.

Unfortunately, I have a Mondial, which won't be too much help here. I am going to ask my friends who have 360/430s and see if anyone will be down by your area or would make a trip. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who lives down by your way.

My father passed away from pancreatic cancer. Survival rates are nearly zero for this disease. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

I hate hearing about **** like this...I know what it's like and it's F.....g horrible. Unfortunately, I don't have a Ferrari to give him a ride, but I'm sure someone will volunteer, probably more than one.

Is he able to actually go for a ride, though? When I got out of the hospital, I could barely sit down, but even seeing all those cars would have made me feel better.

I hope everything works out for the best, having friends like you will give him a reason to make this disease his b*tch.

Yeah, he can go for a ride...we take him for walks in his wheel chair a couple times a day and we're going to take him to a small cookout this Sunday.

That's really nice of you to make those calls....thank you!

And, thank you to all who have responded...it's been wonderful. I was a little reluctant to put this post up because I didn't know how it might be received but I'm so glad I did.

    Thanks again!

He's down in Baltimore. I don't have a Ferrari, but if he wants a ride in the Esprit I'll take a trip down.

Great idea, but I doubt he can travel the four hours if he is already in hospice care. I pray I am wrong.

We have to be able to get something together for this guy. I know it is a long trek for the local C&C crew(about 2 hours each way, 90 miles from our hang out), but we have done longer drives. Maybe we can arrange a mini "car show" in the parking lot at the hospice center and all drive down together. All we need is a couple of our brothers with newer Ferraris to join the fun. I don't want to be morbid, but pancreatic cancer is the gorilla of cancers. We can't dick around planning this thing for a month. I hate driving my car long distances more than anyone on this board, but I am in either with or without the Mondial (unfortunately, the mondial has a little issue that may put her back in the shop). Let's all remember how blessed we are to have the good fortune to have these cars and the health to be able to enjoy them.

FWIW, our spring drive was longer than this trek!

Liberation, I will help you orchestrate this thing if you want. Maybe we can plan it for next weekend or the weekend thereafter.

Would anyone else be interested in joining Alex and I for a little trip to Baltimore?

I know the Mondial is probably not on his top ten Ferrari list, so it is really important that we get an impressive list here.

    Jason,

Put me down man, really sorry to hear about the cancer :-( let me know what day/time he want's a ride and I'll come up from VA to give him a ride. I'm out of pocket June 22-25 and June 26-July 4th. I can come up on a Sunday perhaps or even mid week in the AM?

PM me if you want to take this offline. This is the least I can do for a fellow car nut!
