    Beautiful car!
It underscores what the cars can go through in a short period of ownership. The documents I received show the car was off the road since 1980 (impounded by police for 20 some years), so the color and interior change must have happened relatively early in its life.

hey check out the unusual front grill on this one does that mean there are now three types of grills?

Ok here goes.... one more time to all the espada brain trust out there and yet a very specific question remains unanswered for two whole days now ! Go back 2 pages and look at my question re original headlight placement and tell me whats correct . the way i have it or flipped ?
I challenge you all for the real answer.

Gus it was as you suggested a grounding problem to one relay that was cutting out both fanns and the rear tailight intermittently WTF> anyways Flushing the rad and fixing small leaks ................................................

Is it a question about whether you have the correct light bulbs in the correct lens?

As to which lens is which you already know that one.
Or is it a question of which is the hi-beam position, inner or outer? Try the high beam switch.

Ok, this might sound stupid, but is Espada supposed to be an Italian or Spanish name, as used by Lamborghini?

I speak some spanish and always assumed Espada was taken from that language (sword in italian is 'spada'?)...

Just throwing that out there for you all to ponder as you enjoy your morning coffee :)

well now we've thrown in Portuguese!
but the fish does bear some resemblance...Are those Series 1's or later models? I couldn't see if they had grills on the rear :)

Take a close look at the car's badge...

The name "Espada" means "sword" in Spanish, referring to the sword that bullfighters use to kill the bulls, as Emilio has already pointed out.

Yes, I understand that, but the question was meant to ask why a Spanish name was used for an Italian car, when there's such a similar word already in italian.

Just trying to have fun with it...I was joking with someone that the sun burnt interior on this car could lend the nickname 'espada quemada' ('burnt' in spanish)...But it would be silly to mix spanish and italian for the sake of a rhyme...unless Lamborghini did it also. Pointless, I know!

Guess I just have too much time on my hands today. Back to work! :)

This goes back to Ferruccio's admiration of Spanish fighting bulls, and his relationship with Spanish-based 'Miura' bull breeder Don Eduardo Miura

Did you guys see the news story about the little kid who bullfights and got taken-out by the bull the other day. I think he's OK. I KNOW the bull is.

I think he was 11 or 13? Just nuts.

    Bob;
I meant do i have the actual lenses reversed??
Hi beam on the outside corner of car instead of the inside. The owners manual i have is a repro and its blurry so the lines of the lenses look similar but they are not > currently i have the one that says CARELLO horizontaley on the outside of the car> is this correct or is that the actual high beam lens?

You have the Carello part nos for the high and low beam.
So put the highbeam switch on and that will tell which to mount where.
