Was wondering how the salvage title came into play with just some bumper damage, trans damage would be a costly fix I bet....

Could be a lot more, we don't know. They are on the hook for dealer cost. If they fix it they are on the hook for whatever it takes to make it perfect forever. Then the entire event needs to be disclosed to a new owner. How much do you think they can sell it for with that disclosure? They can get very good money selling it as salvage and they will not be getting phone calls a year form now with the owner claiming they just found more frame damage or the motor has a funny noise that "MUST" be due to the accident. Trust me, that will never end. AAAAAnnddd Ferrari knows full well what happened and there are warranty implications for this car.

We had a lot boy crash a brand new 575 real hard at the dealer. It took over a year to get all the parts to fix it. We had to pay flooring the entire time the car sat at the body shop. Lost our butt on the car. Would have been better to total the thing.

Everyone is better off biting the bullet on this one.

It is interesting how similar this is to the dropped Aston Martin V8 Vantage from a while back:

"A quick look at the blacktop beneath the $120,000 supercar reveals that a piece of the truck's loading equipment simply snapped off."

These types of incidents happen way too much. Always that same type of truck with the ramp in the air and the car rolling off like that.

Something needs to be redesigned in that particular transporter.

I know of a Volvo Dealership that was in the LA South Bay (since closed) that was working on a Delorean many years ago (Delorean's had Volvo V-6 engines) that fell off the lift in a similar manner.

Someone didn't count on the balance of the car with the engine at the back. No one was hurt but the mechanics were so upset. The car was totalled. I knew some of the guys there and that was really a terrible day for them.

This looks funny but to the guys in the shop, it was dishearting and dangerous. Someone could have been easily killed.

Learn the hard way that the loading ramp does not = parking spot.
