Sounds fun to me... why not, if you're a bazillionaire? Hell - I'd order 3 - one for me, one for the missus, and one to tow behind the motorhome. Jedi
He isn't ordering a race car...What he wants is something special, and I am sure the result will be one very impressive car.
Notice how it'll be the 599-spec V12, and not the GTO's... I wonder how well it will handle with that V12 back there. 599 Italia Modificata?
Why? Because real Ferraris have V12s. V8s are just for Dinos. That´s what purists say and maybe Eric Clapton is one of them.
This makes no sense. First off there was only one "Dino" road car ever fitted with a V8. That car being the 308GT4. By your logic the 500 Mondial, 750 Monza, 500TRC, F40 and several F1 cars (etc) are not "real Ferraris". I wonder if they'll couple the engine to the DSG box or mount it to an F1 gearbox.
First of all, it´s not "by my logic" as I don´t consider myself a purist and I love the V8 Ferraris.. But I have to admit that the purists have a point: the first ever non-V12 road car made by Ferrari was a Dino. And maybe the only reason for not existing now a Dino 458 Italia was the relative lack of success of the Dino 308.
