Well, it is now 1:50 AM Eastern. Car is still not here. So far, we have gone from "It will be here Monday or Tuesday" to "Wednesday or Thursday" then "We don't know where it is" to "It's in Georgia" to "It's in DC" (I'm within 100 miles of I-95, why the hell didn't they just stop on the way??) to "it's leaving DC at 10AM, should be there in the afternoon" to "It will be later tonight" to "We're just South of Fredericksburg" then 3 1/2 hours later at 12AM "We're 20 miles North of Richmond" (Richmond is exactly 53 miles South of Fredericksburg). Something is starting to stink big time. Either these folks are scammers, or they have THE lousiest customer service, tracking, initiative, etc. Saturday marks two weeks in transit.

They have very little time before the FBI is on it. I'll give anyone the benefit of the doubt up to a point, but this is getting to be beyond ridiculous.

Thanks for the compliments on the wheels, though!

OK, maybe I was overly concerned. The car arrived at 3:30 AM, it's in the garage. The guys who transported it were very apologetic, and I know it wasn't their fault. Anyway, I'm going to bed, pics tomorrow :)

... not sure where in Virginia you are exactly, but I'll be up in at Smith Mt. Lake this weekend in my 348. Shoot me a PM if you're in that part of the state --- there are some great roads to explore.

    CONGRATULATIONS!

Talk about a long gestation period!!!

I knew that Tripp was the right guy to sell my car to. It took a while to make everything come together..... and finally this 1+ week of delivery 'labor'! :)

If he slept in those sport seats last night, I hope he wore the 5 points!!

You started that car and pulled it out of a carrier at 3:30am?
Your neighbors must hate you!!!! ;)

Congrats though! I'm hoping mine will be here mid/late next week.

Well, if it took me two weeks to drive to Virgina, I think it would also make perfect sense to stop by at around 3:30am when the new owner may be a little sleepy and not look the car over to close:) But really, I'm glad you got your car and she's safe and sound in your garage where she should be, enjoy driving and starring at her, I sure do mine!

OK, I'm finally awake and at home!

First of all -- thank you all for the sincere congrats! I'm thrilled, maybe even a little humbled, to be counted among IMO the most discerning of exotic car enthusiasts! BIG thanks to Dino for answering all of my questions and for holding on while my airplane repeatedly screwed me out of buying the car! I think the plane and I have made amends, though...for now. :)

Unfortunately, I did not sleep in the garage. As I told Dino earlier, I am a huge geek, so I did just sit in the car for a while...with the five point on :) Can't go anywhere just yet because the battery died in transit, and my proof of insurance took a while to come through, so I couldn't tag and title her.

I was concerned about the noise from the truck being a bit much for 3:30-5:00 AM in a residential area, so we offloaded the car in a school parking lot. I was still a bit concerned because there are condos and things somewhat near the school. As soon as we started the car, though, I realized that the sound from the truck was the least of my concerns!! Holy #$%^!! Sounds like the four horsemen of the apocalypse times 8!!

I really like the car as it is...however, I think I may end up doing what I always do and go a little overboard. I'm already thinking of ways to make it even more perfect. I'm going to start with a set of fresh rubber, simple enough. At present, I very much see this car as "#1" and as my financial situation allows, I foresee adding to the "stable" as opposed to swapping out. With that in mind, I may end up completely restoring it at some time...but I don't know -- it has so much character right now. It's almost like one of my favorite vintage musical instruments.

I can't wait to get her out and wind her up!! I'll be sure to post some driving impressions. I'll also be sure to get some good photos and post them soon, I promise!

Now, if you will permit me to continue with my geek-ness, I'm going to go dance around to "Red Barchetta" in the garage!

Well, darn...our auto auction is right around the corner from SML! I won't be up there this weekend, unfortunately. Do you stop by often?

Her new grand kid has made me an empty nester!! :)

This is the first time in 27 years that I haven't had at least 1 Ferrari in the garage. I am definitely having withdrawals. However, I am pacifying myself with deciding between a 360CS or a Gallardo. Life ain't that bad....... despite the socialists in DC doing their best to 'fundamentally transform' us.
