Guys, thanks for all the posts I just returned from checking out my 328 at Tim Stanford's shop. First of all, and I know I have said it before, Tim is awesome. He treats you exactly how you would wish your Ferrari mechanic would treat you, only better. For instance, he knows I am anxious to get out and drive my first Ferrari so he is calling someone who dropped off a car for service before me, but that is not in town for a while, to ask if he can do my car first seriously, when was the last time anyone did something like that for you AWESOME. Anyway, I had not inspected the car in person before I purchased it, and I must tell you it is beautiful (although would any father tell you his child is ugly?). The technical color of the car is Nero Black - however there are very faint specs of grey in the color so it is not such a "heavy" black - it is hard to explain, but it is beautiful Tim took an hour and walked though the car with me. First we went under the car. He showed me the seals and how they were in pretty good shape, some small leaks, but nothing that requires immediate attention I decided to have them replaced anyway, the car does need belts and as long as he is in there I asked him to redo the seals. He also pointed out areas to look for if the car has been repainted due to an accident, items that could be a concern on the wheels, cat, spark plug caps, etc. Then we went to the inside of the car and showed me different aspects of the car. Stuff that I would never think of, like the switch on the steering column to adjust the headlights. He showed how you should always keep it in the up position rather than the normal down (unless of course you are driving with the lights on), because in the up position you are much less likely to hit it as you get in the car. All-in-all he said the car was in terrific shape; we are going to do the 30k service (it had not had the belts changes in over 8 years) plus I want him to replace couple fuel lines. My daughter will likely ride in the car with me and I dont want to take any chances. The car should be ready in a week or two at which time I will post pics. I took some at the shop today with my cell phone, but they dont do the car justice. Thanks again and I will be sure to keep everyone updated. Best, Lewis
Your car sounds like it's black metallic. It's a beautiful color that's what I had on my 308QV that a sold a few years back. So where are the pictures?
i am embarrased - you are right, i relooked at the color code and it says Nero Met.fer 901/c - which is the Metallic You can see "not so great pics" of the car if you are a subscribed member of ebay. It is in the "completed listings" - as the auction expired last week here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170503506268 I promise pics - it is at Tim Stanford up in Ft Lauderdale getting a major - as soon as i get her home there will be pics. I have been trolling the forums for instructions on how to replace the radio and speakers. I have found a few good threads on replacing speakers (with pics) but none on radio replacements with pics, so i will include pics when i do that as well. The car has a radio, but it is non-functional Thanks again for the feedback - hopefully pics within a week
