You know, we who like to work on our cars are always coming up with new projects of restoration or improvement, but sometimes it makes more sense to just buy a replacement. Case in point, my 348 engine compartment latch was corroded. I was going to take it apart and have it cadmium plated but thought to check Ricambi instead for a replacement. Surprise, the cost of a new OEM part is way cheaper than the trouble of restoring the old one. Lesson learned.

I am in the process of redoing the underside of my engine hatch also. Good idea on the latch, looks good.

My engine cover had a slew of issues: OEM insulation falling down and also bubbleing under the black paint. It's aluminium so I'm carefully sanding all the corrosion away and then will give it some vari-prime and new paint.

I wonder why they all do this... get that white corrosion between the paint and the metal?
