I have now idea how long I have had this "problem" with my 84 308.

Okay, 4 bulbs total behind the lenses on the front bumper.

When I turn on my parking lights the smaller inner ones light up on both sides. The outer ones stay off.

When I turn on the LEFT signal, the left outer light blinks

When I turn on the RIGHT signal, the right INNER one blinks and the OUTER light stays OFF.

(Basically, the right outer light never comes on)

I noticed this when I was changing my light assemblies this weekend. Both assemblies are brand new (the old ones had corroded and the lights wouldn't stay on unless you tapped them) so the problem is behind them somewhere. Also, it was doing this BEFORE I put the new assemblies in.

I even tried reversing the wires (those coming from the car) and the inner light STILL blinked. This was the really weird part becauseI confirmed the blinking wire with a test light.

The new lense assemblies both have a blue wire on the outer lamp and a yellow wire on the inner lamp

So how do I wire it so my turn signals work correctly on the right side?

Where'd you find the front light assemblies? I need one of those and haven't had much luck finding one.

Maybe the problem is that I just don't need it bad enough, one of mine has a small crack in it. Seems silly to pay $500 for a pair which is all I've been able to find.

You are not going to believe this but I have absolutely no idea how I ended up with these things. I don't remember buying them or anything, in fact the only reason I was going so far as to replace them entirely is because I had them. I just found them digging thru a box of misc. parts a few weeks ago.

Again, the problem isn't the new ones. It was doing it before I unpluged the old ones.

To deduce this, try unplugging the lamp assembly and measure the resistance between each of the three terminals on the lamp assembly when only having one of the bulbs in place. For example (assigning arbitrary names to the terminals)

With only the inner bulb in place:
terminal 1 to terminal 2 = infinite ohms
terminal 2 to terminal 3 = a finite resistance (corresponding to the unheated resistance of the inner bulb filament)
terminal 1 to terminal 3 = infinite ohms

With only the outer bulb in place:
terminal 1 to terminal 2 = a finite resistance (corresponding to the unheated resistance of the outer bulb filament)
terminal 2 to terminal 3 = infinite ohms
terminal 1 to terminal 3 = infinite ohms

The common terminal where you get a finite (non-infinite) resistance in both tests (terminal 2 in this example) would be connected to the ground N black wire (of course, your names may be different). The other two you can just hook up randomly, and, if you need to swap them to match the LH side for inner vs outer, just swap them.

    Black wire is ground.

Blue wire is the turn signal voltage.

Yellow is parking and goes to sidemarker as well.

For whatever reason, the euro qv 308s use different colors

but when I connect the blue wire to the turn signal in the assembly, the parking light blinks

This can happen if you don't have the ground connected in the right place (or maybe if the intended ground is not really well connected to ground) and the two bulbs have different resistances (which I believe they do) -- i.e., if the two bulbs are (wrongly or effectively) connected in series, only the bulb with the higher resistance will illuminate strongly.

Do you have a 3-pin connector (with three wires) as the schematic shows, or is the ground wire connected separately to the housing somehow?

Can you try the resistance tests in post #4? If you have connection problems between the connector and what's inside the housing, you should see that in the results too.

I am going to do that tonight. I'll let you know what I find out.

    Thanks!

Blinker fluid is low.... (My apologies -- couldn't resist... speaking of resistance testing...)
