Easy fix for 308 power windows

I kinda like the novel approach to fixing the slow windows. I wouldn't think of such a repair on an engine, but on a window motor, why not? Even if you have to inject some new WD every 12 months, you're still time ahead. Less time working on the car and more time driving it is a good thing in my book. When you're piloting your car through the twisties, wind in your hair, smile on your face, no one cares what grease you're using in your window motors. Although not everyone would want to use your idea, I'm glad you shared it, Chris.

 

Try the Wurth stuff instead. Works REALLY well.

 

I did this back in the 1980's, except I didn't drill holes, i just sprayed inside the emergency crank hole and it worked.

For a while. Maybe 2-3 months, then you had to do it again.

And WD40 is not the thing to use, as the lighter ends evaporate, it leaves a gooey, then slowly hardening varnish, that is worse than before. WD40 is the perfect stuff to make a functioning firearm non-functional by using it to clean and lube, then sticking it in a drawer for 2 years You would be better off with some sort of spray oil, not WD40.
