LOL I did think about it, and thought better, It does make me wonder why Dave Viz likes him, lets face it he is one cheating Bast'rd..
It is true. I *believe* he still can't visit Italy (? - Was he AWOL at Italian GP's in years past?) However, IIRC, while he based himself in the US (and built the Benetton empire), "home" was his yacht off the coast of Sardinia - He could basically give the Italian authorities the finger from his boat, and they couldn't touch him...... When he left the boat, he'd retire to his nightclub ("The Billionaire"?) just up the road. The guys got balls! [But I personally wouldn't want him at Ferrari FWIW] Cheers, Ian
Wasn't that tax related...and in the form of the lack of paying it? That's the only thing I can remember anyways.
Your participial is dangling. (Along with Flav in his Speedo) Which one of us is the cheatin' Bstd and which the non-cheatin' one?
Indeed! The references in the Wiki were to Italian reports, but I think I'm pretty safe in assuming: "Act of oblivion" = "Lots of greased palms"..... What's not to like indeed.....
Getting back on topic (and away from Flavio in a banana hanger) It is easy to forgive Domenicali for the indiscretions because they are all easy things to be mistaken about. But when there are 100 things that could happen, you need to eliminate all those out of your control, or else a few will come to pass and screw you out of a WDC/WCC. If we look back over the years... how many pitstop incidents? How many bad tire decisions? How many foolish strategy moves? How many points has Ferrari lost because of stupid team decisions? Would they have been further ahead in constructor points this year or last year or other years had these mistakes not have been made? How many millions has that cost them? Why is it that these same mistakes didn't seem to be made before? It seems like Domenicali is either making bad calls himself or allowing them to happen under his watch. He's responsible for the team and decisions. I don't see why they keep him around.
The pit lane screw ups which happened to both drivers were severely frustrating and stupid and indeed probably cost them in the WDC/WCC, Felipe sure thought so in 2008. Was it because they were inspecting Felipe's car for damage after his first lap puncture or were they moving at a truly snail pace? It looked like the Trident GP2 team. Something needs to change quickly
Jean Todt is the IDEAL solution... It is what it is. Frank p.s. Everyone notice how much smoother things are running with him as the FIA president?
His longevity seems to be unrelated to his performance and may be due to personal relationships. Gee that's never happened at Ferrari before.
Seriously! I loved seeing him climb out of a LP-670 SV at the start of the FIA GT1 championship this year, was in the same light of Rally Kenya whenever that was. Awesome guy
LdM did a great job back in the 70's for Ferrari, and did an amazing job in turning the team around in the mid-90's by hiring and letting Todt to run the show with Brawn, Barns and Schumacher. However, I think his ego got the better of him as of late, and by him wanting to show his national pride instead of hiring the right people for the helm as he once did, he has allowed the team to drift behind the other top F1 teams. Yes, I do think that Domenicali does not have what it takes to be a winning team principle and that he should be let go. Question is, who is out there ? Ron Dennis is available, isn't he ?
Flavio would be a perfect fit for Ferrari. I suspect he is being negotiated with now to take over as soon as his suspension is over...
I thought Flav was under investigation for money laundering, fraud, a few other things like that? Tax evasion?
Because he had achieved everything he wanted to at Ferrari and set out for new challenges? I'm pretty sure that's it!!
Rumors: LdM forced Todt out. Truth: Michelle Yeoh was going to kick his ass if he doesn't start to pay more attention to her. And she CAN kick his ass any day of the week and twice on Saturdays.
