    Disappointed in you guys.

He left Ferrari because he was involved in dodgy dealings ... we discussed this on this site.

I think that now Ferrari has a problem, and the name of this problem is Domenicali....

Rumors on internet... We need stronger evidence.

The version of Michelle Yeoh kicking as* is more plausible. At least we all have seen Michelle Yeoh kicking as*.

Yeah understood ... and I can't find the old threads.

It was something to do with a Ferrari dealership and his son and parts, etc.

I don´t remember anything about his son or a dealership, I think it was something about a restoration shop building replicas and selling them as real cars. But I haven´t seen anything about that anywhere apart from here, so for me it´s BS right now.

Surely the writing is on the wall for Domenicali. SF have a world championship contending car, but are so far off the points that it isn't funny anymore. Changes are required.

As to who should be his replacement - we should ask someone who knows what they are talking about and has proven prediction ability - like Paul the Octopus.

    Look on the bright side:
The way the FIA is "cutting costs" by banning the F-duct, movable front wings, and blown diffusers (that the teams just spent a bundle developing), and re-introduce movable rear wings (launching a new development race), ...
... not to mention shifting to a tire supplier with no F1 experience in decades ...
And if Shumi keeps getting spanked by the Finn/German, ...
Mercedes may lose interest, and Ross might be available again. ;)

So if you are dodgy they put you in charge of the FIA? The last few years all make sense now! Thanks for that :)

Domenicali is in charge + the team is a mess= Domenicali is responsible => he has to leave--is that simple. BTW--is he related to Claudio Domenicali--the CFO of Ducati???

+1 Alonso maybe a little snitchy whiny little b*tch but he is an excellent driver. His poor season and Massa's can be traced right to the poor leadership at the top.

    That was last year's theory.
His driving this year isn't such as to compensate for this much whining.

Most of you are -oh, 3 years or so- late to this party. IIRC, tifosi12 is the only one who arrived at the verdict when it could have saved Ferrari's seasons. Apologies to those who I forgot.

    Wait, what?

Ferrari is NOT going hire Flavio Briatore. It will NEVER happen.

Flavio would be the best thing to happen to Ferrari but there are two obstacles as far as I can see.

    1. Luca might feel threatened by him, just like he did by Todt. While outwardly total opposites, both Flavio and Todt are very, very strong personalities. Definitely not yes men.

    2. In the best case, Bernie is not going to be effective for that much longer. Flavio might need to be transitioned in fairly soon as Bernie's partner in crime and successor. Investors must be putting immense pressure on Bernie to make that happen in case Bernie suddenly decides to DNF on them.

First rule of employment. NEVER step into a role where your predecessor was wildly successful. Domenicali never stood a chance from day one. Things will get worse at Ferrari and then they will bring in fresh blood to clean house and get things in order but it won't happen overnight. One person isn't going to make a huge difference. In the Schumacher years it was a super team with the Brawn/Newey/Todt/Schumacher.

The first step is trying to hire Adrian Newey. Any car he designs is brilliant and Ferrari needs him. As soon as Red Bull hired him I knew they would be a contender within two years. Once you have the car then you need the team to set it up and run a well thought out race strategy. Flavio might be the guy but not certain. Finally a driver to pull every ounce of performance from the package he is given. Alonso can do that if he has the patience for the other pieces to come into place. I doubt that he'll last that long so we need to think about who's available in 2012 or so when things might start coming back together.

Net, I think Domenicali is just part of a natural cyclical progression. A good soldier for Ferrari but not the guy long term.

When I first read your reply, I thought it said "dogy" dealings. Immediately I said to myself, "I didn't know Todt was a participant of the Max Mosely sex scandel thing..."

I'd be happy to get Rory back for a couple of years, he wiped the floor with Newey while he was around
