I am hoping someone can help me with a fuel line question. I am replacing all of the fuel lines on my '85 308 QV and forgot to write down which steel braided line goes where into the fuel distributor (it was late at night, not thinking clearly!).

Can someone look at their car and tell me where the steel braided fuel supply line connects at the distributor and where the other steel braided line connects at the distributor from the fuel return pipe?

Looking down at the distributor from the rear of the car there are two connections for the steel braided lines; one is at 12 o'clock and the other is at about 2 o'clock. One of the connections uses a banjo fitting and the other is a compression fitting.

    Thanks for the help!

I'd be interested in getting your parts list as I want to do the same thing.

Sure thing; Let me finish the install of all lines and I will post the exact number/length/type of hoses and clamps I used.

Anyone able to help me with the location of the steel braided hoses to fuel distributor in original post? Thanks.

Great, thanks. Can you tell me where the other end of each line connects? Does the banjo line at 12 o'clock go to the fuel supply hardline (from the fuel filter) or to the other fuel return line?

    Thanks for your help!

    Brett,

You and I have the same exact car. What's is your VIN?

My car came from a private seller in Dallas who had the car at Boardwalk as well.

Have you done the belt service yet? I am 50% done with mine and I have documented it all with photos. I'll be doing a write-up once it's done.

Steve, I sent you an email re: the car. Good luck with the belts I did mine a few months ago, and couldn't have begun to tackle the project without this board!

He does sell kits. I purchased three kits from him plus some other special. Fuel, coolant, evap. He has them for many different models of our cars. Give them a call at SRI, great people to deal with. He sent me an e-mail with what is included in the kits for me to review before I purchased them.

    JUST DO IT.

AND replace all the plastic lines coming out of the fuel distributor. See Daniel or Verell (Unobtainium Supply) on this site or the www.

IMNSHO, Go cheap here (NAPA or the like), keep your weeners and marshmellows handy.

Sorry for the late post. Im working on my carbs for the first time. If you want to be a masochist you can do like me and replace the vacuum and heater hoses. It only added 6 months onto my project!!!

    HA

Dave is the best. I gave him some lengths for the GT4. I am a very satisfied customer. Just out of curiosity I tried to source some of the hose he sold me that was that was not his custom made hose and came up blank. Save your valuable time go to him first. I got a great tip also. Use some silicone paste (sparingly) on the lower crossover and fuel hose pipe tubes and 40mm water pipes and they make the process go much faster. DO NOT use it on small non lip things like the small tubes out of the gas tank you will never get the hose clamp tight enough!!

Does anyone have an idea of how much a fuel line replacement for a Mondial should cost using a retail mechanical shop? I'm not very mechanical and might make more of a mess if trying to do it myself!
