I have a pair of 360 tensioner that need some identification.

Tensioner on with the yellow strip came in a box with part number 00020284 with a date code of 02/07/13 on the box, but the only part number I can find on the tension is from the rear cap which is 03.02.04 and a stamped cast of B 3. The other tensioner no part number on the box with a date code of 03.09.01 B 1.

When compared to each other I noticed the tensioner with the yellow strip have the casting on the mounting ear beefed up a little. (See pic) I assume this is the newly updated tensioner that solves the mounting ear breaking problem?

How do I identify if it really indeed is the newly revised tensioner?

    Thanks

    They are both wrong.

They need to be made out of wood.

    Taz,

I was thinking the one with the yellow strip is the new "updated" version for the left back, Cylinder 5-8 (US Driver' side), the side that "supposedly" have weak casting problem. The other one is for the right bank (1-4) which does not have a problem, so there is no update to that part. Just need some verification.

I am curious as to how you were able to obtain the part number as to what they are?

BTW, I know it doesn't look like it, but these are left and right bank pair.

If the 5/8 tensioner on the car is the same design, you didn't need it. If it is the old design you did.

Does your car have an assy # that suggests you need a new tensioner?

Did you get the new bolts for the tensioner?

The new one (yellow tape) is needed on the LH side, only if it hasn't already been updated. New screws 205693 accompany the tensioner installation.

    Brian, thanks for the reply.

My assembly number is 44321, not sure if you can tell from the picture if my car have the updated tensioner. Short of pulling the panel off again, this is the best picture I got.

I didn't get the new bolts for the tensioner.

So the one I have in the picture is indeed a newly updated tensioner? Thanks for the part number.
