Today I took my 308 for a ride. I had a new T-Shirt on and when I got out of the car there was fuzz stuck all over the seat. It has happened before and it really is starting to aggravate me. My seats were re-dyed when I got it and I have tried many products to clean and condition my seats. Nothing seems to stop the seats form being sticky!!!!
I have tried Blue Magic cleaner and Lexol. The last time I tried saddle soap and the fuzz still is there. It may sound stupid but I have been in many a car with leather seats and have NEVER had this problem. Is it because of the re-dye??? Has anyone else had this problem???

My seats have been redyed and they are not sticky at all, even on the hottest days.

I condition and clean them with Leatherique products. But even without that they are still not sticky.

Put a cover on it. My steering wheel becomes sticky as well and I now wear gloves to drive. No more stickiness!

Do you know what products were used in the re-dye? Is the PO or shop that worked on it available to help with that question? I would call Leatherique and explain your problem. They are very helpful. I would not be surprised at all if their Rejuvenator Oil and Pristine Clean solution takes care of it completely. Their number (a little hard to find on their website) is: 803-648-4522
    Good Luck!

The best advice is above: Call Leatherique and describe the problem. They are the most likely to be able to help you.

There is also a thread here on F-Chat about using lacquer thinner to remove re-sprays, and if your problem with stickiness is as extreme as you make it sound, it may be necessary to remove all surface dyes this way. But don't do this until you've talked to the people at Leatherique!

Saddle soap is actually very bad for leather upholstery. While this is not the cause of your stickiness problem, it will lead to other problems if you continue to use it.

Most likely, if you follow Leatherique's instructions to the letter (probably involving Pristine Clean followed by rejuvinator oil and a re-dye), your seats will look better than ever and the stickiness problem will be solved. However, if the seats have been heavily re-sprayed, a careful, thorough rub-down with lacquer thinner will also be necessary.

Same problem here... i went out got me some talcum powder with ur hand/cotton clove/ rag/brush etc!! covered the seats with it rub it in a little then whipe it down with a clean cloth, should be sticky no more. Inside the car smelt like a babys arse for awhile but she's sorted now. Give it a shot good luck mate

Mike I haven't installed my seats yet but they definitely aren't sticky. I'm currently away on business so using iPhone. Have a look at my 308GTB rebuild thread. I have some info in there on my seat restoration including info on the conditioner I am using. If they have been re-dyed correctly that shouldn't happen as the leather is baked when done properly.

Drop me a pm if you want so I don't forget and I'll get some more info when I get back home

I have also had my black seats re-dyed and after that I soaked them with a good leather cream, and then had some white cotton from t-shirts. I think it’s the fat in the cream that bounds with cotton, but I use an old Jaguar tips about leather seats, I put regular hand soap in hot water and just wipe the seats off to get it right. No problems after that.
