Are you serious? Please tell me your kidding! I understand your proud of what you have built but to ask that statement is really silly especially on here. One thing you have to understand is relevance....$200k to you might not mean that to someone else. I buy mine for personal enjoyment not road race from light to light with the local high schoolers....Ferrari and Lamborghini are just simply top of the line machines...the best of the best. You can think what you want but facts are facts. You might beat 2 lambos from light to light but I guarantee you one thing.....We could race on the interstate and run 150 mph for 100 miles...I would make it....your ass would be broke down mile #2. If you want to try this make sure you bolt a milk crate to your passenger side floorboard and bring your girlfriend so she can massage my back after I give her a ride home

I went to one of these Sport Compact Car shows and saw some pretty incredible machines. I asked people how much they spent on them. $50 grand and up.... I couldn't believe anyone would spend that much on something so literally worthless.
Well said. To OP: Your Civic makes you happy. I wouldn't ride around the block in that with a bag on my head. My Ferrari makes me happy. You would probably say it's not fast enough in the 1/4. One thing you should know, however: Ferraris are not just about the numbers. (HP, torque, top speed, etc.) There's a heritage and mystique to Ferraris that you either get (and you long for a Ferrari and eventually buy one) or you don't (and you get a souped-up Honda or whatever.) I suspect that, deep down, you're still not completely satisfied with your Honda, or you wouldn't have written that post. Want me to say it? Okay: Your Honda has more horsepower than my Ferrari. Your Honda has a higher top speed than my Ferrari. Your Honda pulls a faster 1/4 mile than my Ferrari. What I won't say is that I'd rather have your Honda than my Ferrari. But that's all good, because you have what makes you happy, and so do I. No problem here. Enjoy your Honda.

So "your" car can do an 8.2 second 1/4 mile, well if you were really after bang for your buck you would have gone after an older modified C4 corvette for 45k, that does the 1/4 mile in 7.5 seconds, that is exactly what my friend just sold. In your words it "destroys" your honda. I mean why would anyone spend 50K on a car that can be "destroyed" by a 45k car? That's just stupid. I would love to see "your" honda out an autocross event or a hill climb, you know something with turns. It is unfortunate that I have let you irritate me, enough to respond, but look at this way you were irritating enough to make me respond. So you've got that going for you too.
If you can keep that Honda in like new condition for 40 years it will probably be worth a fortune. All the right period speed equipment. People love to look at time capsules like that. Enjoy it and keep it in top order.
I guess it comes down to taste and respect for others expertise. I have several fairly expensive automatic mechanical watces, while a timex may keep time it will never have my admiration for complications. You could draw an analysis to wine and note that a gallon of boones farm will get you just as drunk as some fine Pinot Noir. Anyone can accomplish your feat but at the end of the day they will own a Honda. Originally designed for many Mom's and Pop's to drive very efficiently. Taste and respect can be cultivated, but many times it goes by in favor of a cheap thrill. I have no ill will for your comment, only relief that I don't share your views and tastes. Best wishes, John

Race over - Scud owner heads to dinner with the bottle of wine from his collection to meet a beautiful woman with legs that don't quit.
