After you have finished the top side you turn it over and trim edges, make sure you leave enough to over lap at least 1 inch.

Then you cut strips around corners makes it easier to form, and trim where necessary. You only need to heat 5 inches at a time and work it in slowly. If you screw up just reheat pull it up and re stretch it.

    Voilà :D

Friggin awesome dude!! You've definitely got skills!

So uhhh, in the fall, i'm taking my whole interior out to replace my crappy faded tan carpet with new black 355 carpet, and ive got some leather stuff to recover too.
So before I start that part, i'll send you all my pieces (yes, the door sills too) and you can work on those while I do the carpet and leather work!! You can turn everything around in a week to 10 days right??

I went here, not nearly as expensive as I thought!! --> http://www.carbonfiberfilm.com/
I'm afraid I may go bat$hit crazy with this stuff all over my car!! I'm thinking that instead of recovering some of my tan leather interior bits with black leather, just recover them with this stuff! Heat shields, airbox cover... how about the black painted area of the rear bonnet?? Maybe my LeMans grill? The possibilities are endless... just this side of tacky of course! ;)

Out of curiosity... how easily would it be to rip your plastic tool through it while pushing it into into nooks and crannies?
I'm also wondering how it would react to a few coats of clear sprayed on it??? hmmmmm....

Lol I thought about doing my Le Mans grill, it would look awesome I think. I stretched this stuff out lots with no rips, I even crumpled the **** out of it and as soon as I heated it up went right back to original shape. I don't think this will have a problem spraying on Lacquer or clear coat.

So here is the finished product, my interior looks amazing as well as my door sills. Just in time for the Euro show tomorrow with pics to follow of course.

in the meantime here is my interior. :).

Oh and Steve you send me the parts pay for material I will do it for you ;)

That is called a heads up audio controller, I do not ever have open up my stereo flip lid. without taking my eyes off the road I control everything from my finger tips. Comes in very handy when you are traveling at speed.

Looks fantastic, congrats on a job well done! BTW, any thoughts on whether this will work on the vents at all? Probably won't look good on just the surrounding trim...plus with the heat (if any?) coming out through there, how would the CF film react?

I understand its heat tolerant from a melting standpoint, I guess I should have phrased the question differently. Since you heat mold it with a gun at a "few hundred" degrees, if you put it on something or near something that gets moderatly hot, I understand it wont melt, but will it migrate, lift or change shape like it does with a heat gun and some stress applied to it? Sorry to beat a dead horse!

Do you mean my chrome ones? if so someone on here makes them but for the life of me I can not find the link anymore.

I stayed away from the vents as they are small with many different edges, I think they wont hold up as well.

Hard to answer Bro one would have to try :)

They are the Carbon Fiber SS seats also used in the F40, not comfortable at all and tricky to get into, but around corners woooooooo man it's like an anaconda is holding you in place :D
