I dunno - Alonso has always seemed like the type of guy who would enjoy a Massa and Vettel sandwich. Okay - let's put real numbers to this. You say Vettel was :06 back on a 2.82 mile track with a lap time of ~1:16. That makes for an average speed of about 133 mph over the lap. In six seconds at 133 mph you'd travel 1170 feet. So what you are saying is that Alonso had a nearly 1/4 mile gap back to the third place driver, but it was vital he be allowed to pass Massa so he would not be overtaken? This was necessary on the same track where Alonso's gap to Massa was far less than :06 but he was not able to overtake under the same circumstances and needed to be gifted the position? You know you have a point when you post in a pointless thread to say how pointless it is. Let's just wait and see if this guy has any teeth? I've looked for pictures of him smiling and I didn't have much luck. My guess is the FIA will issue some stern warning for next time and be done with it. Exactly right. Plus, I don't know what race "Peloton" was watching because Massa only finished 1 second ahead of Vettel. Massa, Alonso, and Vettel all separated within a second could have led to disaster for Ferrari had the two Ferrari drivers come into contact. The pit wall gave Felipe an opportunity to win this race as evidenced by Rob Smedley telling him to "get on with it" and to concentrate. Ultimately, FA proved to be much faster, reeling in Felipe. Regardless of ANYONE's take, FA would have eventually caught up and attempted a pass on Felipe. However, Ferrari, knowing that would happen based on telemetry took all potential risk out of the equation and helped themselves massively in both championships. Smart move. The only thing that was stupid was the way that Rob Smedley and Massa went about it. I'm still waiting for Peloton's response as to whether or not he was so incensed when the exact same thing happened a mere two years ago at this very track involving "the golden boy" Lewis Hamilton. Was a penalty assessed to McLaren? Hell no. As I was saying, even the $100k fine was steep, and now we have people calling for disqualification and race bans...laughable.

Yeah I am aware, it's too bad you missed my point entirely. My question is, were you calling for a race ban for McLaren after that incident? Or did you just start watching F1 this year? You must have because team orders have been going on forever even since they were deemed "illegal" but now you have your panties in a bunch because it involves Alonso. Hell, MS even gifted a win to Rubens at Indy in 2003 after they had been declared illegal in 2002. That one always slips people's minds!
