I'm just guessing, but I don't think they took the time to add four inches into the wheel base, so that ain't a "full 288 GTO" body conversion....

Looks like a 308 GTS with a body kit to me... should have left it stock.

He cheaped out on the wheels too. They are also incorrect.

Look at that side view shot. I don't think they changed the wheelbase.

    $75K? Pass.

If they did the chassis extension would it be worth $75-$100K? This conversion is done by Jim Carpenter did develop the GTO body kit.

It doesn't look like it's being misrepresented to me. It does say "Full 288 GTO," but what it actually says is "Full 288 GTO style conversation" [sic]. Even without lengthening the chassis, I think it is sort of fair to describe it as he has. I know I've seen far, far worse false advertisements on eBay.

$75K is crazy, as far as I'm concerned. But it does say "Make Offer," so perhaps someone should make an offer that is as out of proportion on the low side of the value of the car as $75K is on the high side...

The equation to figure out what offer to make, should look something like this:

Offer = (Value of a 308GTS) - (Cost to remove body kit)

    How the mind's eye works...

I don't know why, but I think those mirrors are an outstanding feature on real 288s.... but just look funky on 308s. I can't explain it, just works that way.

Several years back, when the market was stronger, I saw a couple of these cars go through ebay. They had the longitudinal engine mod. with turbos as well as the rear deck conversion & they topped out at $60K or so.

That GTO looks really low. I wonder if that is the factory ride height?

I guess somebody forgot to tell him that when you cut up a perfectly good stock Ferrari and do a mediocre at best replica the value does not go up.

It isn't that good a replica.

On the plus side, as time goes by, there will be fewer stock 308s. ;)

Car in the ad is worth less than a good stock 308. Just a body kit and not really correct kit at that. Ok if you want that look, but it would take a special buyer. Price is way way out of line. Here is a pic of the back end of a real GTO. Stock is always better for resale.

The owner of that 308 / GTO clone is (or was) on FChat.

    Also sells parts on Ebay.

Not the best reputation, use FChat search on Ebay user name.

Hhhhmmm, well, I guess my "Rolex Submariner style" watch is acurately described as such, rather than as a Timex... That's wonderful, just saved me a bucket of money!
