Engine mounts and water pump have arrived. she is currently being reassembled. Got an indication of total cost for all the work and parts, glad these things only need this once every 3 years. Not bad if you look at it as $ per mile though. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Excellent, you will probably find those new mounts will last ya another 10 yrs! Waterpump, maybe the same. Maybe wont have to do them every 3 yrs. You drive your car A LOT, so the $ per mile scenario is not that bad in your case Jimmy! I feel sorry for those blokes that DO NOT drive their Ferraris but still pay a fortune for major services every 3-5 yrs.
It's in!! Had a great weekend, got the water tank and oil tank refinished, they look great! Also played around with a few other parts cleaning and tidying etc. Also got a chance to look over all the new parts, front brakes look great, the old water pump has a noisy bearing, spark plugs were due, engine mounts are defiantly worn. Belts look great. Over all quite happy with things. I had a look at fitting the skid plates but I will have to build up the factory plates as they are so worn the replacement plates would not fit correctly. Will be a nice job to take care of on a slow Sunday. Got a call this morning, the engine is back in and they are starting to plumb everything back up, should be driving tomorrow hopefully.
Only 3 average photo's to share ATM, coolant tank and oil tank refinished, oil cap with yellow infill and polish and my favorite photo so far, we had a smiley face sticker and decided to put it where it will be kept safe, can you see him looking out of the chassis? Cheeky little sticker, I love it!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
She runs!!! Just got a call, she is running, hard to hear on the phone with the car running in the background, they were doing the 10 min idle thing. Looks like I need a new throttle positioning sensor, seems to be not working on one bank at idle. Hope this will make her smoother to drive. Man this parts list is getting long...
That is great to hear James! Good to see they dont **** around. A one week or so turn around............EXCELLENT!
You must be excited James! Enjoy her in good health. For whatever reason, just recalled today, when you drill the holes for the skid plates, wear long sleeves and gloves! Remember the bumper is fiberglass, and the dust will make you itch for days! Also eye protection, etc. John
Thanks guys!! The guys have had it on the SD1 to check the TPS, both are requiring replacement, the LHS TPS is not coming off idle fast enough and the RHS TPS is not going full throttle, both have been replaced and the car has been for a road test. Just a few things to finish up on then she will go away for a full detail and paint touch up. Should be ready to collect Friday. I am hoping to get some more photo's to share from the whole process, I will see if they can send some through otherwise I will have the full photo diary when I pick her up on Friday. Looking forward to seeing the whole parts list and really looking forward to seeing how she goes now both TPS are reading correctly.
+1 Woke up this morning and realised it was Thursday, I was hoping I would have jumped a day, but on the bright side it means Friday is tomorrow, now I'm getting excited!! A member here has just made my day also, it has been said many times before and I will say it again, Daniel you are a legend and Ricambi and Ferrarichat would not be the same with out you. Thank you!!
