Napolis properly inserted them into the fenders of his 208GTB also......they came from the scrap of his Enzo panels.

    Definitely a personal choice....

To me though, I have never liked the addition of the shields. The 308 already screams "FERRARI". The lines and sound of the car say everything. The Scuderia shield just seems like a little too much. But then, I don't even like them on any of the new models either. Plus, it just reminds me of the late 70s Trans Ams with the big firebird on the hood.

There are enough horses on my car as it is, but I keep a pair of the magnetized shields around in case I change my mind.

The previous owner had a pair of the thick flexible platsic ones mounted in the usual place on the front sides; I took them off immediately.

On my 330 2+2, I had one of the white oval stickers with USA and a small flag on it between the plate frame and the right tail light; it looked good with a single magnetic horse shield in the same position on the left.

I guess I have to be the one who says it: They look RETARDED on a 308.

That is a great question and one you'll ultimately have to answer yourself. I don't have them on my Mondial. My personal preference is that I like them hanging on the wall in my man room, but not on my car. Mine doesn't even pretend to race, it's a gentlemens touring car.

They remind me of a tatoo on a beautiful nude woman. I don't like my flesh interupted by badges. Some do though. If you like women with tatoos I think you can do it, if not, then avoid it.

Why do they look bad to some people? Do you think the people who have them are people who wished they had a 355 or later?

The body lines that Pininifarina sculpted for the 308 don't allow for the badges. More current models did allow for the placement.
I think they got it absolutely correct. A badge simply looks out of place and takes away from the beauty, elegance and simplicity of the design.
The badge takes away from the intent of the designers.
The identification already on the car and the car itself is all that is really neccesary to declare it's lineage. Anything more is only a distraction from Sergios perfect vision.

IMO the shields (for the 308) only belong on a rebodied Fiero replica, and makes the genuine 308 look closer to it's Pontiac wannabe.

I had these on my 3.2 Mondial and loved them, thought they looked great, I could not understand why people did not like them.

I have now had my car repainted and the shields left off so I could replace them with new ones but, Wow what a difference, the lines of the car look so much better, it makes the car look completely different, really !

I will not put the shields back on to ruin the lines of the car.

But it is always a personal choice.

PO had put shields on. I left them there for 10 years. Took them off this year. Whatever ,,,,, Do what you want. As long as they are just stickers they come off pretty easy if you want to remove later. I found the magnetic ones don't stay on fenders. Good for tool box only.

Dr. Barry has one on the way to me.......

Moorespeed did considerable research on all the versions of the NART logo for the 250SWB they took to Goodwood....there are several variations.

The Daytona is on you, pardner..

I didn't realize so many folks were using "stick ons" as their method of putting Scuderia badges on their cars.... Were that the only choice I would not have put them on my car!!

I happened to "luck" into my factory badges as a good friend with CGADD (car guy attention deficit disorder) bought them as an option with his new 355 then decided to wait to have the fender pressed to put them on and threw them in a desk drawer... by the time he found them he was 4 new Ferraris down the road and his latest Ferrari already has them. He tossed them at me one afternoon and advised me to use them or throw them away.

Still, I didn't like the look of them just up on top of the fender and since I had to drill mounting holes I decided to "french" them in. So I guess what I'm saying is I like the look when full blown upscale, but I too am somewhat less than thrilled when done with stickers.

What about the 288 GTO, doesn't that body also screams Ferrari all over?
And doesn't the 288 GTO also has the beauty, elegance and simplicity of the design without the badge?

    Hey lb,
I've been looking for a 85 308gts with black exterior and red interior forever! Where did you find it? Can you post some pics of the interior? The color combo is beautiful. Good luck with it.

    Dear Ferraristi,

Well, I don't have a 308 but have the shields on my Testarossa...they sure do match my hot young friend Jen's (23) outfit.... :D

The shields get the chicks !! :)

Since that photo was taken, I now have the Yoshi super thin fired ceramic shields....much nicer.

I have them on my 348 and like them, but it came to me that way and I honestly would not have put them there myself. Nevertheless they fit the shape of the car.

I don't have them on my 308 and don't like the look except for the az and nero cars. Both mine are rosso

In the case of my car it came with the shields on it already. My car previously belonged to Yoshi, who undoubtedly makes the best shields out there, so I view it as part of the heritage and history of my particular car. I dont anticipate removing them anytime in the near future.

Besides, I like how it breaks up the solid metallic black and adds that splash of color to the car.
