okay i tried to get answers from other threads but no real luck. when i turn on the a/c i get a loud clattering noise from the engine bay. im assuming it is the a/c compressor or the clutch but it keeps clattering until it blows the hidden fuse. hooked up a/c guages and it pulls from a static 100psi down to 50 or 60psi at rpm. then after maybe 30 seconds the fuse blows. wondering if it could just be the clutch trying to engage but shutting off du to low pressure or if the bearing is out of the compressor? it worked fine one day nice and cold then 2 days later this started? hope somone can help thanks, sean
Probably the compressor clutch. Just goes to prove....everything works fine 'til it doesn't. Should be a readily available part. Not hard to replace it, hopefully in situ.
