Kind of reminds me old your prediction that once Alonso starts winning the fans will love him;FAIL!
he's been gifted two wins and is more despised than ever....

    Oh really?

And where exactly are you getting this from?

    Here a few links:
    From the Tifosi Club:

It is fair to say that the addition of a second Spanish race to the calendar is down to the popularity and success of Fernando Alonso...

    http://www.tifosi-club.com/v3/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3505&Itemid=2

    From the Ferrari F1 Forum:
This year, Alonso will have both the support of his fellow countrymen and that of the world famous Tifosi.
    http://ferrarif1forum.com/2010/05/06/f1-ferraris-alonso-is-home-sweet-home/

And a poll from the Scuderia forum, which shows the majority of those fans are happy with Alonso:
    http://www.thescuderia.net/forums/showthread.php/27060-Has-Alonso-met-expectations?p=611148

The reality is that it is too early to say whether the Tifosi really embrace Alonso or not. We will see that at the Monza GP by looking at the banners and their reactions. My prediction is, that he is their star.

PS: Kraftwerk, I like your new avatar. We need to step it up a notch on here. I'll be changing mine soon too. ;)

I'm getting it from our humble forum; look at the amount of people that hate him here.
Actually forget it; you're right. Your always right; you have to get the last post in if someone disagrees with you.
I'm wasting too much time arguing with a middle aged man from Chicago.
Going to enjoy time with my wife & kids
    thanks

And I thought you liked middle aged men. After all your favorite driver falls in that group...

Sometimes I'm right (e.g. USF1), sometimes I'm dead wrong (e.g. predicted a new Ferrari chassis this year after 6 races), sometimes I'm just guessing (e.g. Austin GP).

You and aircon had good points about MS' healing process and scored that one.

As for the Tifosi liking or disliking Alonso, I really think it is too early to tell. It took Prost and MS a while until they started to like them. Of course victories help. Right now it could go either way. To tell you the truth when I looked up the examples posted below I came across a survey done by the Corriere dello Sport in which the readers wanted Alonso replaced by <drumroll> Kimi Raikkoenen. So even if the Tifosi are on a driver's side, it doesn't really mean they're right (and I'm saying this as a Kimi fan as well).

PS: Your wife told me to annoy you occasionally so you'd stay off the internet and spend more quality time. :)

And they should. It's going to be a rough finish to the season as both Mercedes will struggle to get into Q3. MS needs to concentrate on two things: Beating his teammate, and getting more out of a underachieving car.

Schu never won a championship and always had a mixed season the first year with a new team. Why do I feel like I am repeating myself!? ALL of these champions have had crappy cars and them turned around with a better car the following season. Happens to everyone!

This year is particularly different because the car he is driving is the polar opposite of everything he prefers in a car. Look at home much he wrestles this car to the finish. All drivers have been through this to some extent. Schu just happens to have it pretty bad this year.

That being said, if he is in a car next season that suits him and he still doesn't perform, then the "OMG he's lost it" police can come out and shout all they want.

What I find strange is Button's preference for a car that understeers. I guess he can't be smoothe without it.
