    Hi guys

this is my first time on the site and it looks cool.

I have recently had a problem with my 355 water temperature raising higher than normal in traffice. found that my cooling fans are not working at all. whats the cause of this. could it be a simple fuse has blown. i see in the manual the fuse in the floor fuse box but cant locate this for the life of me.

if its not a fuse any suggestions to what it could be would be most grateful. I spoke to a friend of mine who use to work with ferrari up north and he said the fans packing up are a common problem.

thanks in advance for any help guys

    john

There's about thirteen thousand threads in the 355 section covering this so try checking out a few then coming back if you cannot find the answer

Yup, there are several threads...start with fuses. If it IS the fuses, you will need to replace the fans, as one sympton of bad fan motors as the get worn, is they start drawing excessive current and blow the fuses. The excessive current draw can also damage the fuse panel and cause low idle and even stalling when stopped at a light.

There are other diagnostic steps if it is not the fuses, but start there first. PM me if the fuses are okay.

I have a thread on replacing the fans and where to get them inexpensively.

The radiator fan fuses are in the passenger floor fuse box, numbers 20 and 23 and are 30 amps each. PM me if you need an Owner's Manual.

    Thanks for that Paul
if you could send me the fan info that would be great
found that both fuses have blown and the box doesnt seem to be damaged
i assume that you can get to the fans easily enough to change
i.e remove rear wheels, remove arch linings and then the access is there?

The search function in the upper left corner of the page is your friend. I did it for you this time ;)

I wrote this a while ago...there are many other instructional threads about this...but it is such a simple procedure, I am sure you can figure it out from this.

PS, you will get much more assistance if you filled out your profile. People are much more inclined to help folks that are not "strangers". :)

    Oh, and it's a "spider", not a "spyder". ;)
