Well they didn't touch, and even though it was very naughty, no one suffered any damage or anything...

Back in Fuji 2008, webber i believed touched Massa whilst pushing him as close to the wall (and pit exit) yet people on here called for Massa's head. Webber received no penalty either...

As he's done all season in almost every single session, Alonso shows he's faster than Massa.

Webber shows he's fastest on worn tires.

Vettel shows us he's still a kid.

Red Bull shows us that Newey countinues to be a genius.

Red Bull also shows glimpses of amatuerism in the way they run the team and a race.

The Safety car shows that whenever it enters the race, it's too much of an influence on the final outcome.

Michael shows that even for one point, he's going to make you earn it -- maybe even going over the line.

Barchello shows the old wounds haven't healed.

Petrov shows us that this kid may actually have something if he can stay out of trouble.

The pit stops show us that even something as ordinary as changing a tire is dangerous.

And Button's poor showing along with Mercedes/Brawn fall from grace shows us that last year may have been a fluke.

    Hurray!

Sounds like he'll be starting from the pits then: Q2 + 10 positions puts him in the twenties anyway.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. ;)

I think a 5 place penalty suited better, but whatever.

That picture shows it all, RB's car halfway over the white line. MS, I'm a fan but today you pushed it too far.

Sorry to tell you, but you missed out on the best action from your hero all year long: He was duking it out with MS in front. Eventually he was passing him on the straight when MS squeezed him almost into the pitwall. Rubens made it stick sliding over the grass and MS got a 10 spot grid penalty for Spa for driving once again with the crowbar.

    Your boy rules!

Freaking awesome. Agreed, couldn't have happened to a better guy.

GO RB! I said in a thread on fchat earlier, that if they were in the same car now that RB would take it to him, and apparently he did. Can't wait to see it on replay.

As I said earlier in the "Button takes the blame on the understeering car" thread, Mercedes is coming increasingly under pressure to justify the millions they spend on MS: The fans are starting to loose their interest as we saw in the dismal ticket sales in Hockenheim (about 50% of the capacity). The maneuver on Rubens turned a lot of F1 fans off as well.

While he was not getting any podiums, at least he was of interest and a rolling billboard. But once he starts to drive like a mad man (see Montreal and now Hungary) people are not even interested in that anymore and he becomes an "Altlast" (white elephant) for Mercedes.

Brawn and Haug have to explain toward the Mercedes CEOs why they need MS next season and the board of directors in return has to make that argument plausible to the unions. But if the public is not behind MS, then that sales argument falls flat.

    Interesting development.

MS showed the 'chop' again today. He seems to still have some life in him beyond most of the others who simply parade around for a pay cheque. RB had to actually do some work today for his stipend...

Maybe you can soon pick Heidfeld for Jack's pot (TM).

What is even scarier than the squeeze is the fact that MS still doesn't see a problem with it. Keep up that attitude and the next penalty will be more severe...

What a race too miss!! Just finished the delayed telecast

Webbers win was EPIC! Ok Vettel may of been caught napping or he did it on purpose?... either way Webber still had to PUSH PUSH PUSH to get out ahead of Alonso and he did scoring fastest lap after fastest lap.

Even I cringed at Schumie's block on Rubens, I think he let Rubens pass in the end not to get a black flag.

Webber now leads the title and is leading Vettel 4 wins to 2!

Lucky that Rosberg wheel didn't hit someone in the head!

The title is alive with ... V8's :D

Here are selective quotes since I read the whole thread, I haven't seen the drives press conference yet so I have yet to read any from the last page or 2.

I'll d/l the race tomorrow

    Yes
    HE DID :D
    or not
    :D
hmm really? at no time did I see a Ferrari 1-2 only maybe Alonso winning.

    indeed :D
    why :( it's :D
    I am :D

indeed :D keep him away from home GP
Even tho I wanted to see Alonso come 2nd, I was hoping for something

Do you spell Webbers name incorrectly on purpose? Every post you do it.

Maybe we should start calling you GeryD?
Every year they have those stupid f1.com surveys this track tops the list as the track to get rid of!

As Murray Walker used to say, F1 spelt backwards    haha.

Yeah looking at the replay I have to agree :(

Just noticed he is getting a 10spot grid pen for spa.
    :D
Yeap I lost respect for Vettel earlier this year. He is like Hambone was in his first 2 seasons.

I actually don't mind Hambone, he seems more settled with Button. Tho you know Mclaren so BOOO HISS!! haha

4 wins for webber :D this title is still up for grabs by 5 drivers!

Watching a delayed race just isn't the same without posting in this thread and looking at live timing

My brief Ferrari 1 - 2 hope was:

At that point Webber still had to do one pitstop, so I counted him out for the win (big mistake) and Vettel just got his drive through penalty. For a moment there was a real chance that Vettel couldn't come out ahead of Massa. Hami was gone at that point.

But I didn't count on the RB's insane speed and Webber's determination. Yes, that was an epic drive.

For some reason, the Geezer's move reminds me of Prof. Watkins complaining to Gilles he was lapping far too close when passing an emergency vehicle parked on the track after an incident. Gilles responded by saying he didn't understand the complaint, he gave the emergency crew 'plenty' of room.

After the fact, it dawned on Sid that from Villeneuve's perspective, a foot was a huge margin of leeway.

Anyone who has watched Michael race would know he wouldn't make it easy, especially if point(s) were involved. I have no doubt from Schu's perspective, he gave enough room for Rubino to squeeze by, no more, no less and I'm equally certain he would have known if they had touched, both of them would likely have suffered the consequences.

Micheal had enough faith in RB's car control to push him to the limit, more a mark of respect than what appears at face value.

Nope, if he pushed him too far RB would have wrecked the car.

So Alonso was penalized for being pushed off track by Kubica at Silverstone. Alonso had nowhere to go other than off track.

FIA don't really know what the hell they are doing.

The penalty is a disgrace. Schumi was half a car ahead of Barrichello. Barrichello should have backed off. All schumi did was to protect his spot.

I think the only reason why RB didn't hit the wall is because the pit wall ended and therefore RB had the width of the pit lane exit. But he still clipped the grass. Still, I believe that is too far.

Anyways, atleast we agree the FIA is nuts and the inconsistency continues.

Unions unhappy about paying for MS' salary:

There was a follow up article about the pressure Brawn and Haug are getting under because of the poor results in Germany. Couldn't find the article anymore (I read a lot about F1 on many websites), but it seems the topic isn't off the table.

But do you really believe that Schumi would push RB into the wall at 280+ km/h? What good would that serve other than risking killing both of them??

I seriously think Barrichello was the one with the stupid move here. Schumi MAY not have realized he (RB) was continueing his move, which is why he (MS) backed so clearly and quickly off again.
