You still don't get it. The "Court of Public Opinion" is the last place to get a fair hearing. Your idea of jurisprudence is dangerously close to mob rule.

BTW One other trait of a fair judicial system is swiftness. Too late for that I fear.

I am putting my trust in the FIA and I think they deserve a chance to get it right.

Ferrari and Alonso??? I would say hammi has been a larger offender this season.

Alonso can be a cry baby and a pre-madonna... but he is a 2x WDC... and they tend to be.

Funny how people are more upset about Alonsos attitude than Schueys over aggressive driving style. (but thats for another thread)


Also, yes they broke the rules... just about every team has violated the no team orders rule this year.

It is done and is largely accepted and has been done for the last 60 years...

people tend to forget that...

it seems the only point worth arguing is that they didn't put on a good enough of a show and it was too obvious. Which doesn't change the outcome. The final result is the same. So whats the point of arguing.

The problem is with the rule... not with either of the drivers. They have contracts to honor and keep. Id rather go back to my employer who pays me multiple millions of dollars a year to drive and say i did what you said than not comply and deal with it... especially if you were in Massas fragile position with ferrari.

It was legal in the past but because Ferrari made a mockery of the sport in 2002 it is now against the rules.

Of course any team can issue team orders and no one will ever know unless they are stupid about it. And if they are stupid about it they will have to be punished, what choice does the FIA have if they don't want to look the fool?

I totally agree that the drivers had a financial reason to be a part of this illegal act and that is why they too must be punished and can not be allowed to keep their WDC points from the German GP.

 

Patricko, they will strip them of their constructor points (at worst), will give them a suspended race ban (probable) or simply do nothing (most likely)

 

Thus every team will do this as obvious from now on. They have to do something real (ie. WDC points) otherwise the FIA might as well fnck off ... seriously.

Which brings me back to why I believe Ferrari did it this way ... and sorry I don't agree with their methods. They should have raised it off the track not used a race and potential WC for politicating.

I doubt that it was a premeditated act of civil disobedience. But since it did bring the issue to public attention we should take the opportunity to address the issue.

 

You can't in the middle of a season.

Heck if RedBull, for example, had started the season with either Mark or Vettel as the confirmed number 1 they would be leading the championship by miles by now.

Sorry as much as I am simpathetic to Ferrari if they do not loose their WDC points from Germany I will be very disappointed. Ferrari were stupid and should be punished. They gave away a solid 1 2 finished because the team is run by flippin morons.
