Hi all, I doubt this will end well, but what do you think of my restyled 458?

I made the side line continuous from front to rear (ala TR), and removed a little extra cladding around the B-pillar. Doesn't this look cleaner?

(please ignore my PS non-skills, this is just a quick pencil sketch/touchup to give the general idea)

Anything is an improvement. They are loading the car with design trends instead of timeless innovation.

    Have you seen THIS?

Other than the turn signal fiasco (which has nothing to do with appearance) I'm STUNNED.

    Doesn't need a THING.

Okay, I can appreciate the performance, (and thanks for not ripping me a new one) but did they really need to resurrect the Ford GT90 Concept's Edge design? All of those little intakes all over & the Audi LED strips... makes me cry.

Interesting, but, to me, your "side line" looks a little too familiar.

Nice try on your design. I think it looks pretty good overall, but still prefer the current 458 design better. I think with that crease, it is too reminiscent of a Lamborghini Gallardo...

    But nice try though

Alright, i actually got a few sincere replies!

I have been disturbed by that non-continuous side line ever since the car came out. It looks like a flat-out error to me. Styling for styling's sake, like how BMWs got Banglized.

And come on, admit it, there is too much "stuff" at the base of the B-pillar, like they forgot to remove some camouflage cladding from the test mule.

This is meant as a compliment to the car, which is otherwise sublime. If it weren't, I wouldn't care.

Time to get to work on a body kit :)

The non-continuous side line is 1) a nod to the P4/5 Jim G. had made (from front wheel to door) and 2) from the rear wheel, the line dips into the arrowhead-like door handle. i think it looks perfect.

yea, the bodywork at the shoulder could be a tad lower, but im sure that will be addressed with the spider variant. attached are some photos i took (well the very kind owner took the one of me in his car) to show what i mean.

the only thing im still not 100% sold on is the LED stack, i still think it could stand to have 2-3 less, but other than that, i really like it.
