I need help finding a good place for attaching the belts behind the seat. On the F1 car there is a F1 ECU right where the perfect spot would be. Have anyone solved this before?

Could you install a modest roll bar behind the seats and attach the belt to that? This was the approach my dad took to installing seatbelts in a 1959 Triumph TR3A. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Do not install 5-point or 6-point belts unless you also have a roll cage (not bar, cage). You really do not want to be held in the seat while the roof gets crushed--in this case it is definately better to be compressed into the footwell volume.

Now if you have a roll cage, there are plenty of places to attach the belts to the cage.

Down at the floor you should weld gussets on both sides of the floor structure to take the loads and not allow the belt bolts to pull through.
