Car #4, a 328, made it to the Vintage Flying Museum in Fort worth, scoring in the top dozen in the First-Timer class. Car 12, a 550, wasn't so lucky in the 105-degree heat. The car went into limp-home mode, and they...well, limped home. See car 4's triumphal finish at the Vintage Flying Museum in the attached photo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the update - I wondered about the 550. It was 2 weeks after being delivered from California; maybe not yet fully sorted out. See the earlier thread for more pictures. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289764
As the half that didn't make it to the finish, here's the deal. We had to leave right after lunch to get back to Dallas for a dinner. The Slow Down warning light came on about 5 miles from where we live. After reviewing the Owners Manual, I decided to drive on slowly. Made it home w/o incident, except I didn't run the A/C. I assumed it was a failure of one of the cat ECU's (or both). I took it into James on Tuesday and he kept it until today and could not replicate the fault. So she's back home and ready to battle Texas heat again. I do take pride in that we were the second place finisher within the F Car category of the Rally. Ciao Lee
Glad it wasn't serious. I enjoyed meeting you, and you definitely had the coolest Ferrari at the rally (in more ways than 1).
