Let's hope the weather is clear for the drive ;-) Looking forward to seeing it in person.

A good friend of mine will be coming to Concorso with me. She's been doing photography (weddings etc) for years, so I'm going to leave the exterior shots to her :)

Wow! At the rate I'm driving mine, I'll accumulate about 5k miles per year. I can't imagine having the self control to drive less than 150 miles per year. I suppose it would be easier to keep the miles low if one had a larger collection of cars. My (run of the mill) Porsche is getting a lot of rest this year!

Pulled the driver's side wheels off tonight and cleaned them. Tomorrow night, passenger side and I'll be about done. This is a shot of the front suspension.

What? Like you've never done it!

Actually, I don't recommend washing the wheels with water when they're off the car. Looking closely at the design, it looks like they've gone through a lot of trouble to keep water out of the lug bolt area (there is sealant around the sleeves and the big rubber gasket thing on the back of the wheel). I was careful not to get water into the gasketed area and then used a space heater to make sure I didn't leave any water behind. Oh, and yes, I do own a garden hose, but it was dark out, and I live alone, so what the heck.

Nice technique, I've put far worse into my tub. Handy not having a nagging wife around, eh??

Whew! Just drove back from Monterey to San Francisco in the 355.

It took 2nd in class at Concorso Italiano! Photos to come.

The car that took first was a beautiful black on tan 355 Berlinetta. Absolutely stunning.

Photos to come. Will probably post them in another thread, since this one was about close up photos.

Saw your car today and it looked great! Just curious, did the judges share their scoring with you? I was wondering the test pipes impacted the score?

    Thanks Monte!

To get a good picture of what I can do better next time, I have to e-mail the head judge to get a summary of how the scoring went. I'm really curious to find out what they thought.

I just can't imagine it being cleaner, or in better shape than your car...second place is great...but wow... the 355 must have just been perfect...

    Congrats on the award!

We were staying in Carmel, and I met the owner of the black 355 in front of Piatti after he parked his F40 out front (!). He entered 3 cars in CI: the 355, an F40 and a 550. All of them won their class, and according to the owner, his logo mats in the 355 prevented it from a best in show.

The car has 22,000 miles on it, and he drove it up from LA. Impressive.

Was it a young guy (late 20's, maybe very early 30's) that you spoke to? The guy who was driving the 355 to collect the best in class award, was surprisingly young (I'm 39).

His 355 was a spectacular car, from the outside. I didn't get a chance to see the inside. Nice that he drove it up from LA too!

I believe it was the owner's son. The owner was (likely) in his 60's.

Just got my score from Concorso Italiano
    98.5

I lost 1 point for interior. I have to assume that it was because one of my vents had just started going sticky.

I lost 0.5 points for paint and polish. On this one, I'm really not sure. Perhaps they didn't like that there was clear bra on the car. I thought the paint and polish were about pefect.

    Can't complain about a 98.5, no car is a 100.

Like I said no car is perfect, so not much room between 98.5 and something less than a 100. Congrats on your score.

I'd love to track it, but alas, it's a spider. If anyone knows of a track day within 300 miles of me that allows spiders, I'm all ears!
